I have rather mixed feelings about this motel. While some things were excellent, others were well below par. The water was the hottest I have had in a motel - excellent. However, it was a good thing I had taken my own shower gel as the one provided on the wall of the shower was empty, and the bars provided measured about half an inch (1.2 cm). There was supposed to be kitchenette in the room, but what was provided was a joke. 1 coffee cup, 1 bowl, 1 plate, about 7 or 8 spoons, forks and knives. There was also a very sad lack of coffee, sugar and milk provided. It is almost like management assumed there was only going to be 1 guest. The microwave however was one I can only hope for in my own home. The bed was an absolute dream with plenty of spare pillows, but the wall by the bed had coffee still spilt on it, and a childs hand print that clearly had been there for some time. Being a cleaner I am familiar with walls and stains. The reverse cycle air con was a dream, as was the double blinds. The motel itself is quite well located, with walks well marked out and a visitors centre right nearby. A Foodworks nearby provided dinner and desert and is within easy walking distance. Parking was also a bit of an issue, with spots under the building quite hard to access in the Subaru Forester we had. Once others had parallel parked in the outdoor spots, it was quite difficult to get out from under the building. Overall, I would give this place a middle of the road rating. We spent just over $100 to stay there, so I suppose it was not too bad. Also, the cheeky Sulphur Crested Cockatoos that make themselves at home on the balcony railings are great for comic relief. They are so insistent, there are warning NOT to feed them. I would stay there again, but I feel they could definitely improve. It is not suited to wheelchairs because there are no street level units. There were bigger units for families even though ours was for 2.
