Majestic Roof Garden Hotel

“Adelaide 500 accommodation perfection”

Our stay at the Majestic Gardens was a perfect spot for us attending Adelaide 500. Clean, great staff, delicious breakfast and short walk to the race course, restaurants, cafes, bars, night life and yhr sight seeing of Adelaide's features.

Great staff and service. Great location, convenient to downtown Adelaide. I don't know how much we paid for our room because it was part of package deal from a travel agent. I'm guessing it was $$$$. Breakfast was included in our package but we were limited to about 6 items to choose from (separate menu from restaurant menu) and the items were not what I would have picked. Also, not much available for my vegan wife. The rooms were nice but I did not like the bathroom faucet design that prevented me from filling a water bottle or placing a washcloth underneath the running water (hard to describe, other than a downward spout that almost touched the bottom of the sink bowl). Every time I used the shower, water would run out from underneath the shower door and soak the floor towel. The pillows were not that comfortable. The TV only offered YouTube for entertainment. The gym was very small and lacking. Speaking of filling a water bottle, we were told we could have it filled in the hotel restaurant, which was closed most of the time. They also didn't have any ice machines (The hotel we stayed at in Sydney had ice machines on every floor). Not sure if the lack of ice was an Australian thing. :) This hotel had a contract with a parking garage nearby that was cheaper than the garage normal rates. I mistakenly bought a 2-day parking pass because we rented a car for 2 days, but I only used the garage 1 day because we didn't enter the garage until the evening of the first day (it's confusing: the 24 hour starts when you stamp the ticket and enter the garage). I returned the rental car on the night of the second day. When I asked for a refund for the second day, I. was told there was nothing that could be done because I had purchased a 2 day parking pass instead of a 1 day parking pass, but if I wanted to, I could stand out in the garage and sell the ticket to someone else. Ha Ha. I know it was my fault for buying a 2 day parking pass but I thought it was an odd suggestion to recoup my $30. (like a ticket scalper!) Overall, it was a nice place, but I'm sure I probably paid top dollar and would probably only rate it as average. We asked to see our bill but were told they could not tell us what it was because the travel agency booked it for us. I thought that was strange.

“Super comfortable rooms and great location”

Beautiful, comfortable rooms, bed, pillows, shower, bath...all exceptional. Super convenient location for my work and a bit of CBD Shopping...walking distance to both. Breakfast on both mornings was delish too. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
