“Very comfortable and relaxing”

2 night stay. I arrived Friday evening on the Overland Train, and departed Sunday morning for the Ghan train. Check in and check out were quick and efficient, desk staff very pleasant. Had a lovely view of Victoria Square from my room. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast Buffet was very good, with a large variety of options. Lounge was also very nice, and well stocked. Only 1 minor issue was the lack of accessible outlets by the bed or desk, for phone charger, etc. They were all along the floorboard, and my phone doesn't charge on a pad. Otherwise, an enjoyable stay.

Here to review the important things! First up this hotel has a syn grass tennis court and an excellent gym. Great variety in the gym with squat rack and Oly bar, full range dumbbells, pin loaded and cable machines. Spacious and pleasant room. Only suggested improvements different handles for pin loaded cable machine and a few more mats. Clean and well maintained. I would have loved a take away coffee at 620am before my 630am gym but got one down the street (the restaurant wouldn’t make me one at 620). I liked the sustainable bathroom products and also that it was fully accessible for persons living with disability. Great to see! Yes the room was an 80s 90s vibe but who cares! It was totally clean and comfy. The lights were easy to use (so sick of challenging hotel lights!) altho needed another lamp or light and some USB plug ins. The only perhaps major fault for me was the one hour wait for room service (website said 30 mins) and the food was cold with almost no vego main options. But for room service cannot really expect amazingness. Didn’t get to use the tennis court as short work trip but it looked well maintained and although the net is low it appears to be able to be raised. It’s in a beautiful rooftop location on level 3.

The hotel promises a refurbishment is coming, but I would honestly avoid it until that’s been complete, it’s like the land that time forgot. The hotel promises a refurbishment is coming, but I would honestly avoid it until that’s been complete, it’s like the land that time forgot. Comfy bed but the room/bathroom is so dated, I felt that I had stepped into a hotel 15/20 years ago. Exec lounge was nice, evening drinks had lots of options for food and drink and friendly service. Breakfast similar in the lounge, but 2 mornings out of 3 the coffee machine was not working - unacceptable when the only coffee in the room is instant! . Personally if you can’t provide decent coffee, what most people want with breakfast, then the lounge shouldn’t open! Last morning, WiFi was completely down, frustrating when I had stuff I needed to send, so opted to head to the airport earlier. A refurbishment may be coming, but it’s like until then zero efforts are being made and it’s being left to fade. If you want a comfy bed in a dated hotel, book here. This property though is no way up to the standards of a Hilton and unless a refurb comes soon I can see it being downgraded to another brand. It’s just not competitive when the city has so many great hotel options.
