We arrived in town late ( in high season ) and this was first place we inquired about. The first quote was way more than we care or are accustomed to paying. We spoke of other options and my wife asked if they would lower price and they did by app. one third and considering the popularity of town and high season we chose to park our family of four ( and big backpacks ) and spend 2 or 3 nights here. Our room was fine and the rest of the accommodation was more like staying w / your favorite sister. Marta conditioned my mate ( vessel, cup ) , provided excellent breakfast and their beautiful living areas /dining room were there for us to enjoy. We were off running around but she also would provide other meals if visitors cared to partake..New Years Day night there was a long table of guests of lodge and family having a grand time. A well furnished bar is also on premises. I wish all lodgings could be so pleasing ! ( free large monitor computer / internet also )

“A great place to stay in San Martin De Los Andes”
We spent one night in El Arbol Duende and were very satisfied. After a warm welcome by Paula the owner, we got to our room which was clean, spaceous, and had a great shower and toilet. We spent one night in El Arbol Duende and were very satisfied. After a warm welcome by Paula the owner, we got to our room which was clean, spaceous, and had a great shower and toilet. Paula was very friendly and helpfull. She assisted us in planning a short bike trip in the area, and kindly allowed us to check out late the next day. The hotel is conveniently located 2 blocks (3 minutes walk) from the main street. We had a great time there and will definitely come back in the future.

Very good location the hotel is located 300 metres from the lake and 200 metres to the main square. Customer service is excellent, reception staff goes the extra mile to please. We booked through and international booking website that didn't forward our request to the hotel. However reception staff change our room without any problems. Breakfast was a good selection of meats, eggs, home made bread and jams. Yogurts, fruit , the lot. I strongly recommend the pace because is very good value for money. Un hotel con muy buena ubilacion a 3 cuadras del lago y 2 de la plaza principal. La atencion es de primera y el personal de recepcion muy atento. A nosotros el agente internacional de reservas on line no le habia pasado el pedido de habitacion requerida, sin embargo nos cambiaron automaticamente de habitacion. El desayuno es abundante con una selecion muy variada y productos de calidad. Por todo lo expuesto recomiendo este establecimiento por ser de muy buen valor economico y servicio.

It is a pity the staff are not more welcoming to guests as if they were it would be the perfect place to stay. A short walk from the centre of town on a quiet road. Room was immaculately clean, very pretty décor. Breakfast was small but had some home made cake which was lovely. The stay was spoiled by the attitude of the staff which made us uncomfortable. At breakfast we ordered a tea and a coffee, and when two coffees arrived we asked for tea and were greated with rolled eyes. Upon arrival we were looked up and down and felt like a bother every time we asked for something at reception.

We stayed here for one night on February 2015, Pros : Clean rooms. Good location (less than 10 minutes walking distance to town center) Friendly staff. Cons : This is not exactly a hotel, it is more like a big family house with guest rooms. Hotel staff are friendly but speak no English, so it was difficult to communicate. Breakfast is simple and not versatile. Rooms are simple and lacks atmosphere. One more recommendation ... If you came here to travel on the "Road of the seven lakes" and you are starting your trip from the town of "Bariloche" then I recommend staying at the town of "San Martin de los Andes" instead of going back and forth on the same day. This small lovely town has a very welcoming atmosphere, nice restaurants and it is worth staying here for at least one night.
