An interesting hotel in the middle of the jungle. Rooms are big and comfortable with a great bathroom. But there is a weird smell that may be the septic water system. The pools are wonderful and my friends used the spa and said the massage and facial were some of the best they've experienced at low prices. Front staff is very nice. Restaurant is just ok with resort prices. We got stuck behind a huge tour group and waited a long time for dinner one night. I recommend you taxi to town for dinner. Given your only other real choice is the Grand Mela at a much higher price, this is a good choice if you don't eat onsite.

We stayed at the Loi Suites during the third leg of our South American vacation. It's situated back in the jungle, along the river. The views from our room, many of the common spaces, and the pools were beautiful. The swing bridges between buildings definitely add to the ambiance. In general, we enjoyed our stay here. Our room was large and comfortable. And, it was a quick walk to either of the pools. We particularly, enjoyed the adults only pool. It's much smaller, but feels a bit secluded and has a stunning view of the river down below. One afternoon, a troop of monkeys came through and were all too happy to entertain us with their antics. In addition, I spent about an hour and a half completely alone at this the pool the morning of our departure. It was perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of it. This was unexpected at a property this big. Ultimately, the hotel is let down by the dining experiences it provides. The food is okay, but just okay. Nothing particularly memorable about it. The bigger problem is the service. It's EXTREMELY slow and can be frustrating. This happened at dinner, but lunch at the "Tiki Bar" was worse. We watched people get so frustrated, that they waved their arms in the air and eventually walked across the room to get their server. At the time, the place was nearly empty and all of this was within full view of the two staff members at the bar. We struggled to get our check at the end of one lunch, and I resorted to yelling to a passing server. Ours had simply disappeared. I would also say that the wine was really overpriced here. We got FAR better wine in Medoza and Buenos Aires for FAR less. Our visit to Iguazu was pretty quick, so the dining hassles at the Loi Suites did not bother us that much. However, the property is pretty remote, so without a lot of hassle, you're kind of a captive audience here. It could get pretty old if you're staying for more than a day or two. Bottomline... this is a nice place, but it needs work on the restaurants/food service.
