There can be three different ski lift classes:

• Aerial lifts: aerial tramways, chairlifts, telemix detachable chairlifts, funifors, gondola lifts and telemix
• Surface lift: j-bars, t-bars, magic carpets, platter/button/poma lifts, rope tows & handle tows.
• Cable railways: funiculars.
