Normally you will find three types of Exterior cabins:

- Exterior with window, are those with large exterior windows and brighter.

- Exterior with porthole window, are those with small round windows (often present on older boats).

- Exterior with obstructed view, those who have partially or fully restricted views by a life boat or something similar.
