Son Bou

Natural Beauty

Son Bou is the longest and most privileged beach of the Menorcan coast. Before your eyes, an extension of fine golden sand where you can find areas offering sun beds and umbrellas, nautical sports, terraces and beach bars with sea view , and ideal spot to enjoy the Mediterranean breeze... Son Bou is one of the best areas on the island to practice water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking and snorkelling; or set out a pleasant excursion on a sailboat. Its calm water will let you enjoy a journey without distress.

The area’s resort, designed especially for family enjoyment, offers hotels with all the required services, various restaurants and coffee shops; and small traditional shops where you will find the perfect souvenir. Grazing the shore there is an archaeological site that will attract the visitors’ attention. They are the ruins of the ancient Basílica paleocristiana de Son Bou, discovered in 1951, built along 25 metres parallel to the coast. At only a few kilometres you will get to the welcoming village of Alaior, known by the French as the Menorcan Montpellier. This town is known as the cradle of excellent footwear and delicious cheese. Every Thursday, a pleasant street market is displayed in the old town centre, offering numerous products at good prices. In August, the feast of Sant Llorenç brings joy and much entertainment to the town’s streets.
