Playa de Muro

Mediterranean essence

Playa de Muro is one of the most popular destinations of the island. It is famous for its 5km long, beautiful coastline, awarded with a blue flag. One of the most amazing places is Es Comú, a 2 km long unspoilt beach. It belongs to s'Albufera Natural Park and has fine sand, golden dunes and a thick pine forest. The location, near the Tramuntana mountain range and the east coast make Playa de Muro a paradise for families and sport lovers. You can enjoy cycling, nordic walking, horseback riding, tennis, windsurfing, kitesurfing...

In Playa de Muro you will never have to choose between the mountain or the sea; it has an interesting and varied scenery. Surrounding the area you will find some of Mallorca's best golf courses. Most hotels offer reservations and discounts on green fees. To top it all off we have delicious food and the ancestral traditions of the small town of Muro and the nearby town of Alcudia. The fortified town, lively port and charming flea making are worth a visit. Cala Poncet, Alcanada, Punta des Far, Es Secs and Cala Baixa are only some of the beaches you will find during your stay.

The magic creek “Ses Fonts Ufanes”

Not far from the chapel of “Sant Miquel”, in the village of Campanet, nearly every year a unique hydrological phenomenon occurs. In Rainy autumns and winters, as if by magic, incredible fountains of water flow out of the ground at the Finca Gabellí, they can reach a volume of 100.00 liters per second. They are the known as “Ses Fonts Ufanes”. This interesting phenomenon, which has been classified as a Natural Monument by the local Baleares Government is as impressive as difficult to see, as this only happens three to seven times a year, when sufficient water has been accumulated in the peak of Puig Tomir and surroundings.  For this reason, every time this wonder occurs, many spectators and excursionists visit the site to take photographs.
