Fornells

Authentic marine scent

Fornells, a real fishermen’s port, situated on the north coast, is famous for its calderetes de llagosta and its small white houses with green windows. A quiet stroll along its quay is a recommendable way of enjoying the marine essence and to learn about traditional fishing, passed down through generations.

Nowadays it is an important tourist resort, visited by travellers round Europe. Its two marinas, Nautico Fornells and Puerto de Fornells, hold varied sized colourful vessels during the summer time. Although its development, locals have always preserved its inviting fishing atmosphere. Far from crowds, this beautiful bay of over 3 kilometres is an excellent place where you can disappear ... and observe a magnificent sunset view. Before you leave this fishermen’s refuge, you must visit the Torre de Fornells, built by the English in the 19th Century; and the calas Tirant, Cavalleria and Cala Pregonda, where you can practice water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, kajaking and snorkelling.
