Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria, behinf Sofia and Plovdiv. It is the most important merchant port of the country, in communication with the Danube. It is an oustanding industrial city, with metal factories, mechanical factories, chemical factories, alimentary, textile and leather factories, and it is also an important touristic destination with one of the most elegant beaches in the Black Sea. You must visit: The Cathedral of Mary's Assumption, built in 1886 imitating the Cathedral of Saint Petersburg. The Opera Theatre with a red front style Belle Epoque in the Nezavisimost Square, that has the interior completely renovated. The Ethnographic Museum is one of the best in Bulgaria, in a beautiful well equiped house. The Renaissance National Museum, the Archaeological Museum, the Medicine Museum. And if you are looking for something different you can visit the Aquarium, dolphinarium.
