Saint Denis is the capital of the Island of Reunion and one of the place you must visit. It is small, modern and clean, and it is recommended to visit on foot. The route will start from the low part of the city: the Barachois, a promenade full of cafès. In a modern area, chic and fairly expensive. Do not leave the place without visiting the prefecture. From there, it is recommended to walk towards the high part of the city, without aimlessly, without hurries. As a hint, after visiting Barachois, you can walk up Victoria Street, where you will find antique buildings. During your walk you must also visit Paris Street, with Creole houses, an antique hotel that has been summited to a long renovation and the gardens: the covered market in Mariscal Leclerc Street and the boulevard Luciano Gasparin that everyday except sundays offers a sample of handicraftsof this zone. Another place you cannot miss is the Cathedral in Saint Denis.
