Praslin is the second island in size in the Seychelles. It is located 27 miles northeast of mahe. It`s population rounds about 6.500 people. the main settlements are Baie Ste Anne, Anse Volbert and Grand Anse. It was called Isle de Palmes by the explorer Lazare Picault in 1744. During some time it was used by the pirates and arab merchandisers for hiding.
