Copenhagen

Gothenburg (Sweden)

Skagen (Denmark)

Skagen is a small touristic city where the main activity is fishing. A picturesque place that outstands for it's low yellow coloured houses with red tiled roofs. A wellknown time of the year in Skagen is the festivity or celebration on the night of Saint John (Sankt Hans Aften) in the beach where bonfires are it and songs are sung around them.

Oslo (Norway)

Oslo is the capital of and most populous city in Norway. Oslo occupies an arc of land at the northernmost end of the Oslofjord. The fjord, which is nearly bisected by the Nesodden peninsula opposite Oslo, lies to the south; in all other directions Oslo is surrounded by green hills and mountains. Oslo has a large and varied number of cultural attractions, which include several buildings containing artwork from Edvard Munch and various other international artists but also several Norwegian artists. Several world-famous writers have either lived or been born in Oslo. Examples are Knut Hamsun and Henrik Ibsen. Bygdøy, outside the city centre is the centre for history and the Norwegian Vikings' history. The area contains a large number of parks and seasites and many museums. Examples are the Fram Museum, Vikingskiphuset and the Kon-Tiki Museum. Oslo hosts the annual Oslo Freedom Forum.

Arendal (Norway)

Arendal is a town and municipality in the county of Aust-Agder, Norway. Arendal belongs to the traditional region of Sørlandet.The town of Arendal is the administrative center of the municipality and also of Aust-Agder county. Other villages in the municipality include Tromøy, Rykene, Eydehavn, Strengereid, Kongshamn, Kilsund, and Hisøy. In the middle of the town centre is an area with wooden houses dating back to the 17th century. This area is called Tyholmen, and is what is left of buildings from before the 19th century. The inner harbour of Arendal is Pollen, where the fish market, pubs, and restaurants are located.

Torshavn (Faroe Islands)

Torshavn is a big commercial city on the east side of the isle of Streme. Outstands for its nature and richness in historical monuments. You can walk down the groves, parks and streets, where you can see small houses of multiple shapes and colours, constructed during the 19th century. The nicest is Gongin Street, where we can find constructions of the 16th and 17th century. A place to visit is the monastery of Munkastovan, a building that seems very heavy, built in the 15th century. Near we can find another known building and very old, the stock Royal Leigubun stockhouse. The city has many museums and exhibition halls. In the historical museum, the outdoor museum called Kurdalsvegur. The theatre and music lovers will be able to see the nordic House Cultural Centre, where clasical music concerts are given, theatrical performances and artistic exhibitions.

Grundarfjordur (Iceland)

Grundarfjörður is a small town, situated in the north of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in the west of Iceland. The town had 938 inhabitants in 2004 and 974 inhabitants in 2005. The town is situated in front of an impressive mountain range which has a slightly alpine look. On the sea side, there is a mountain called Kirkjufell, a diverted piece of the mountain strip Mýrarhyrna. The mountain forms a small peninsula.The town received the right to do commerce in 1786. Around 1800, French merchants came to Iceland and lived in Grundarfjörður, where they constructed a church and a hospital of their own. The town has become rich through the fishing industry, and this wealth shows in the style of the original, luxurious houses being built. The road to nearby Stykkishólmur crosses a big lava field, called Berserkjahraun. This is partially warm, so that even in winter, there is not snow everywhere. The name of the lava field comes from the Eyrbyggja saga, according to which two Berserkers were slain here by their master, because one of them fell in love with his master´s daughter. Nuuk (Greenland)

Nuuk, also known by its Danish name Godthåb (Good Hope), is the cultural, financial, commercial and tourist capital of Greenland. It is the smallest capital in the world and the most populated city of Greenland with about 22,000 inhabitants. New and modern buildings with a Scandinavian touch confronted with old houses of the old town with their colorful painted houses. In Nuuk there are many things to do, such as visiting the National Museum of Greenland, as well as the Nuuk Art Museum, that offer cultural and historical exhibitions. Also interesting is the House of Culture, which focuses mainly on contemporary art exhibitions and live performances.As for whale watching, there is a good chance to see three species of whales that are almost always present between May and November.
