Only a few places in the world have such a characteristic and wonderful nature as the west of Norway or the Fjords. Many of these fjords are deep and steep, with waterfalls and mountainsides that are thrown sharply into the sea. But in the Norway of the Fjords you will find at the same time, wide and smooth fjords, where fertile agricultural land and abundant fishing have created a visible being. Alesund is a town and municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Sunnmøre, and the center of the Alesund Region. It is a sea port, and is noted for its unique concentration of Art Nouveau architecture. The town of Alesund is the administrative centre of Alesund Municipality, as well as the principal shipping town of the Sunnmøre district The Norwegian Centre of Art Nouvea Architecture, Jugendstilsenteret, is situated in Alesund. Its a museum and competence center with exhibitions telling the story of the town fire and Art Nouveu/Jugendstil in Norway and Europe. Alesund is the site of the annual Norwegian Food Festival.
Full of churches, cathedrals, castles, museums like the polar Museus or the Tromso Museum or the botanic garden are some of the things to see. It´s history, aswell as the religion, have been linked to the artic fishing, a source of wealth in this region for centuries. From the point of view of touristic interest, we can find in this city the Prestvannet lake in the center of the Island of Tromsoya.
Alta is a municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. Alta is the northernmost city in the world. For those interested in bird watching, the river outlet, known locally as Altaosen is well worth a visit. This tidal area is used as a stopover for many wetland species.
Kristiansand is a very recommended city to visit in Norway, due to having all the essence and flavor of the traditional norway, with it's typical houses, the nice ambience and the beautiful scenery.It is a place where people walk on the streets as they see life a different way, more calm and nice for the tourists. It is one of the best cities in norway and one of the mostly recommended, so don't forget about it if you travel to Norway, because it will fascinate you and you will have a great time.
Bergen is the second largest city in Norway and the most popular gateway to the fjords of West Norway. The city is renowned for its beautiful nature and offers excellent hiking opportunities in its immediate surroundings. Having fostered many of Norway's greatest bands and artists, the city is also famous for its cultural life and underground/indie music scene. There is a great variety of restaurants and cafes in Bergen, but you should expect to spend some time looking for the best places.
