Stavanger

Only a few places in the world have such a characteristic and wonderful nature as the west of Norway or the Fjords. Many of these fjords are deep and steep, with waterfalls and mountainsides that are thrown sharply into the sea. But in the Norway of the Fjords you will find at the same time, wide and smooth fjords, where fertile agricultural land and abundant fishing have created a visible being. Long distances and high mountains make the coastal culture. Here is very well preserved both the art of shipbuilding as the old commercial places.

Currently the town is adorned with a series of 17 murals. The paintwork created by a selection of artists tells the stories of the local community and the area. This trail is a result of a community project which was initially designed to integrate local community groups . The trail, which was opened by the Princess Royal, now acts as a major tourist draw. Take a moment to view their pieces, Channel, Foundations and Bubblefield. As ever, these artists drew their source material from working with a broad cross-section of local people. Infrastructure.
