Singapore

Singapore is a city-state in Southeast Asia. Combining the skyscrapers and subways of a modern, affluent city with a medley of Chinese, Malay and Indian influences and a tropical climate, with tasty food, good shopping and a vibrant night-life scene, this Garden City makes a great stopover. Singapore prides itself on being a multi-racial country, and has a diverse culture despite its small size.

Surabaya (Java)

Surabaya is Indonesia´s second-largest city with a population of over 3.1 million (5.6 million in the metropolitan area), and the capital of the province of East Java. It is located on the northern shore of eastern Java at the mouth of the Mas River and along the edge of the Madura Strait.To Indonesians, it is known as "the city of heroes" due to the importance of the Battle of Surabaya in galvanizing Indonesian and international support for Indonesian independence during the Indonesian National Revolution. Attractions in Surabaya include the historical attractions in the ´Old City´ aea. These include the Ampel Mosque and the Kong Co Kong Tik Cun Ong Temple. There are a number of good museums including the ´House of Sampoerna´ which showcases the history of the famed ´Kretek´ cigarettes. The Monumen Kapal Selam (Submarine Monument) is also an interesting attraction. Surabaya Zoo (Kebun Binatang) is a popular family attraction, as is the appealing stretch of sand better known to holidaymakers as Kenjeran Beach. The water slides at Ciputra Waterpark is fun for children and for adults, a stroll along the mouthwatering Food Street (G-Walk) is a must.

The main island is located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. Bali is also the largest tourist destination in the country and is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music. Komodo Island (Indonesia)

Komodo is one of the 17,508 islands that compose the Republic of Indonesia. The island is particularly notable as the habitat of the Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on Earth and consequently named after the island. Komodo Island has a surface area of 390 square kilometres and a human population of over two thousand. The people of the island are descendants of former convicts who were exiled to the island and who have mixed with Bugis from Sulawesi. The people are primarily adherents of Islam but there are also Christian and Hindu congregations. Komodo is part of the Lesser Sunda chain of islands and forms part of the Komodo National Park. In addition, the island is a popular destination for diving. Administratively, it is part of the East Nusa Tenggara province.

Albany is a port city in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, some 418 km SE of Perth, the state capital. Melbourne, known as the Kulin Nation to its traditional owners, has many galleries and museums with an Aboriginal or Indigenous focus, including the Koorie Heritage Trust.
