Papeete (French Polynesia)

Papeete is the capital of the French Polynesia, an overseas collectivity of France in the Pacific Ocean. The commune of Papeete is located on the island of Tahiti. Fakarava, French Polynesia

Between the sean and the sky, Fakarava is a protected atoll, designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. This atoll is well known for the outstanding diving sites, specially especially for the 800 meters north of Garoua passes that allow crossing the pelagic fauna and observe rare corals of exceptional quality.

Atuona Marquesas Islands (French Polynesia)

Atuona, located on Atuona Bay on the southern side of Hiva Oa island, is the administrative centre of the commune (municipality) of Hiva-Oa. Atuona was the capital of all the Marquesas Islands (French Polynesia) but it has been replaced by Taiohae (on Nuku Hiva). The peak Temetiu, rising to 3,980 ft above sea level, towers above the town. Atuona was the final home of Paul Gauguin, who died there in 1903 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, which overlooks the town. The Belgian singer Jacques Brel is also buried there. In 2003, construction on the Paul Gauguin Cultural Center was completed in Atuona.

Huahine (French Polynesia)

Tahaa, Society islands

Tahaa is the sister of the nearby Raiatea, located in the archipelago of the Society Islands in the French Polynesia. Both islands are surrounded by coral reefs, that once could be one one island. Tahaa has few beaches on its coast. Most of the beaches on these island form smalles isles called motus. Tahaa has a beautiful blue lagoon very rich on marine life where you can practice some water sports as diving, windsurf and canoeing. The waters that surround both islands are also known all over the world for the many oportunities offered to navigate on sail boats. Another name for Tahaa is Vanilla Island, due to its constant vanilla scent. In fact, the island produces the 80% of vanilla of Tahiti. Both islands have several pearl factories, known for their quality and value.

Bora Bora (French Polynesia)

Moorea, French Polynesia

Found only a few kilometers northwest of Tahiti, Moorea is located in the French Polynesian Society Islands.
