“Fantastic trip”

It was a fantastic trip. The hotel was clean and cozy, the food was okay in the main restaurant. But in the a la carte restaurant Bogainvillea was magical specially because the chef waiter Ozcan. He made our stay so special because he is a real professional.

Superb hotel set in beautiful grounds, we were lucky enough to get upgraded to a lake (pool) view villa which was superb and greatly appreciated. The staff at the bar around this pool were incredible and looked after us very well. The best thing about this hotel was the great choice of places to spend your day, around the main pool, on the beach, in the gardens and so on. From lively to relaxed we never got bored in our 10 day stay. AI drink packaging was really good with Efes flowing and choice of bottled beers in some bars, wine was very good base on previous hotels too and the spirits and cocktails certainly packed a punch! Entertainment staff have built great rapport with guests, get you involved and make it fun, they are also happy to dance the night away with you to some fantastic live music bands, Best entertainment I have had, watching every act and never left early, brilliant! A La carte will cost €15-18 but we really enjoyed and thought it value for money, we struggled to eat the sizeable well cooked steak. Pool areas are spotless and beach area whilst a little rocky was calm and the views when chilling out as the day closed in was awesome. Staff throughout this hotel are friendly and helpful, there are comment on reviews about favouring/catering for German guests, I recon 80% German/Dutch and 20% the English and other nations so statistically it would appear this way, I was happy to use my very limted German to get by at the bar, all guest were happy, friendly and for this reason I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat. Food was very good but get there early if you like it hot or want more choice, people leave the trays open so food goes cold and some take plates full of the best stuff and leave half of it, bit selfish but hardly the hotels issues. There is a microwave but is the desert section which is not helpful, relocating this along with adding a second omelette station would be Beneficial as some mornings it takes 10-15 mins to get served and many people stand one in the queue who order 4! If you are still standing at the end of the day there is a small nightclub, we did it twice and it is defo fun! Overall, this holiday was incredible, the staff at this hotel are helpful, respectful, hardworking and make your stay special!

“Deluxe Rooms are NOT Deluxe”

Having read many good reviews about this hotel and also having paid a lot of additional money for a 2 bedroom Deluxe Room with sea view (via TUI), we were very disappointed an how rundown the so called Deluxe Room was. In particular the laminate flooring was scruffy, lifting all around each strip of boarding and looked old and stained and really let the rooms down. In the initial room we were allocated, the skirting boards were also old, warped, stained and dirty, as well as the walls being scuffed and needing repainting. The bathroom also was very dated and had missing grout in the basin area and the doors hinges were rusty with leaking rusty marks down the door and onto the floor - this was not what I expected for the extra money I had paid for a Deluxe Room! I immediately went to Reception and complained that the room was not acceptable and I wanted to be moved to a cleaner, more updated Deluxe Room. The male Receptionist was quite off-hand and said there was nothing he could do until the following day, when we could look at another Deluxe Room that would then be available. We returned the following morning and were shown to another Deluxe Room with s/v, but again the flooring was horrible, with scruffy lifting edges, but the bathroom was marginally better (although there were permanent white stains on the marbling that looked unpleasant) but the second bedroom was larger, so although it still wasn't the lovely Deluxe Room that both TUI and Turquoise Hotel lead you to believe you would be staying in, it was marginally better than the other room, so we moved room. I really feel that the description of the Deluxe Rooms are misleading and both the rooms we stayed in need major updating and refurbishment. My daughter also complained that there was no decent bright lighting in either the bathroom or in the bedrooms to do your makeup under. Also there was no watchable English TV channels available on the odd occasion I tried to watch the news. As other Reviewers have commented, the housekeeping is very hit and miss and although our beds were made everyday and towels changed with no problems, I don't think the floors were swept very well or any thing other than basic cleaning. However our minibar was filled up every day with no problem. On the positive side the grounds were lovely, the cats were lovely and all looked healthy and well looked after. The food was ok as far as AI food goes and we liked the outside cooking counters (although sometimes individual ones got over busy with queues). The soup in the evening was delicious. It was disappointing there was no fresh orange juice at breakfast (it was watered down) and although there was no Tomato juice out on display, if you asked for it a member of staff they would get a glass of it for you. Overall the entertainment was good, with some nights a lot better than others. The bar near the main stage often got very busy and therefore resulted in you getting your drink served out of order because the waiters couldn't keep an eye on who needed serving next! Overall if the Deluxe rooms (& in particular the flooring) had been updated/refurbished then it would have been a lovely holiday, but as it was we felt very mislead and disappointed by the rooms we actually had to stay in.
