We returned yesterday from our 10 night holiday at the Meryan and I would thoroughly recommend it. The hotel is beautiful, staff were superb and food was lovely. We were a big group (from 11 year olds to 75) but nothing was ever a problem. I had been reading reviews before I left that were worrying me so I wanted to write one to show what a great time we had. Sunbeds around the pool were very popular with guests but we weren’t bothered about them. We spent every day on the beach where we had sunloungers without a problem. We used the games room, spa, gym, beach and pool. I thoroughly recommend the cocktails!

This is a honest review of our trip to Turkey and stay at the Meryan hotel.🇬🇧👍 We had a wonderful experience overall, on arrival we felt at ease and reception greeted us nicely The hotel lobby is beautiful . We were told there was food available for us to eat as we’d had a long day of travel from the UK and hadn’t arrived until gone 11. We were very grateful for this, especially as our youngest daughter has autism/ adhd and she was hangry by this point! Luckily her favourite pasta was on the menu phew! 😅 The food court and some parts of the hotel seemed a little dated in decor compared to other parts of the hotel, but still really nice and very clean. The restaurant staff were so welcoming and friendly. Our hotel room was cleaned daily to a good standard, floor seemed a little dirty at times but not enough to make our stay bad in anyway. The air conditioning made everyone in our party feel pretty poorly though, during the day it’s beautiful and gives that much needed relief from the scorching sun, but at night we were left shivering and blocked up! Again I guess this is common with air con and did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. It did make us chuckle that the cleaner seemed to like our daughters care bear teddy and regularly tucked her in to a blanket on her bed, very cute. We found most the staff friendly, with the odd one or two that perhaps were having an off day, but nothing majorly off putting. Most of the guests seemed to be Russian or German. No one unpleasant in any way, we just felt like the minority but again didn’t let that deter us in anyway and found a few British guests to chat along with. The entertainment for kids I felt was lacking a little, seemed a tad monotonous and aimed at very young children, not children who perhaps are more challenging like mine sadly! Also, not much for the older kids/ teenagers to get involved in. The pool was fantastic, but is no where near big enough for the size of the hotel and its guests, we regularly had to get up early around 7.15am to get towels laid ready for us all to have beds for the day, then it became a bit awkward when guests who decided to lay in until later would try to move your towel! The bar staff were brilliant in the evening and very attentive, especially Ali. We loved the live music and Turkish themed night with the traditional dancing. We all loved the foam pool party! The beach access was great and the hotel felt safe and really comfortable. One thing that really annoyed us all was the smoking! 🚬 We found it really off putting that you could be sitting outside round the pool/ beach or bar and people could be smoking next to you. I get that people wish to smoke but I feel there should be designated areas for this as it’s very off putting and in some cases can cause real health problems for people with asthma or other lung conditions. Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Meryan and all said we would love to return again in the future. Many thanks Meryan! 🇹🇷🇬🇧👍

Staff - what can I say other than 👏🏼 Meryan for creating such a fantastic work force. Nothing is too much and staff in all teams are very pleasant. We have been incredibly impressed by the service! Food - feels a bit repetitive, but the quality is always spot on. I can be a tad fussy at times, but I’ve still found something to eat during our time here. I think what’s missing is maybe an a la carte restaurant to break up the repetitive food from the buffet. I have to say though that the beach bar serving takeaway food during the day was a really easy option during the day! Waiter service was a bonus! Room - we had a standard room which overlooked the water slides and it was a very well kept and comfortable room. Takes a bit to get used to the air conditioning and if you get cold, the blanket doesn’t cover 2 of you comfortably, so you’d need an extra one. Can’t fault the quality of the room at all. The bed for us was also really comfy. Pool/beach area - the one thing I have to say is that there isn’t enough beds for guests here and it’s been an annoyance having to get up at 6.30 for beds (we are a party of 6, so it’s harder the later we’re up; 1 day we didn’t get 1 bed between us and had to spend the day sat at the pool bar which was far from relaxing for us. The pier is fab for jumping off and swimming by rather than navigating the pebble beach. We found the Aura shopping centre had the cheapest water shoes around (€10 a pair); that’s left out of the hotel and about 0.75 miles away at the opposite side of the main road. Entertainment- struggled to get seats for the entertainment so can’t really comment on it. We were able to play bingo - we won and the prizes were typical holiday tat. Can’t fault the effort of the team though and I have to say the foam party was so much fun!! Additional Info: we had a 70th birthday in resort, we paid to have the table at tea time decorated and for a cake, it was €60 (€10 per person). The cake was huge and could have probably fed about 10-12 people. Some photos of the table and cake below. The Friday market is 0.5 miles from the hotel (turn right and cross at the first subway you come to) - there’s steps on the subway, so if anyone has mobility difficulties might want to get a taxi (€5 each way). The Soho Bazaar is 1 mile to the right outside the hotel, but on the same side of the highway, the only crossing is at a roundabout. I checked the distances on my strava and they differ to what the signs say outside the hotel. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend!

This hotel is far from 5 star It needs a update in decor Also not many pools people take all the chairs from 6 am Tui coach representative wasn't there three families looking for the bus right at the end we didn't leave till late Locker not working majority of the holiday Tui rep wasn't there there most of the time at times statesd there was tui rep polish one she was lovely , tui english rep wasnt interested unless you bought a trip of him wouldn't tell you about what was out there you could go to without buying from him The hotel is over rated defiantly not a 5 star Food was good and the rooms cleanliness was ok Very hot in July so weather is lovely Always book your trips outside the hotel we we t out the hotel ans walked right for 20 mins and there was lots of shops
