Just got back from a lovely week' long stay at Melissa Gardens. The rooms were basic but comfortable and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Yazz Alfie and Ahmed were great and the whole team were lovely. Would go back again The hotel food was lovely and the happy hour cocktails were very good value.

“Amazing family fun hotel”

Another fantastic family holiday at this hotel, not that I expect anything less as we've been coming here since 2015 and every time it's the same experience. Another fantastic family holiday at this hotel, not that I expect anything less as we've been coming here since 2015 and every time it's the same experience. From reception to bar/restaurant, cleaners/maids and also the massage staff they are exceptional in the manner they treat all the guests. Food was excellent, entertainment was fantastic and most of all the staff just make the holiday as they will go above and beyond to ensure you have the best time ever. Just back from a week here. Basic room, pretty much what you'd expect of a 3 star. Bit of a smell in the bathroom but waa barely in there so didn't even bother complaining. I doubt if you're self catering and actually want to cook in the room touc get much done as there's a single electric ring that looks terrible. Fridge for beers 🍻 top floor is 4 high, no lifts. Dine for me and 7 year old but some might struggle. My air con was spot on, was extra and allegedly 8 euros per day but got charged more than that! Looked a newer unit to some so some perhaps will have poorer air con. I did hang a pair of damp swimmers on the air con unit outside mind and get an electric shock off it! Bed a bit poor but usually had too many beers for that to have been an issue. Pool and bar area generally tidy enough. Biggest complain here is by 4pm they're moving loungers and setting up tables foe the night. They'll hose around your lounger. Feels like they want everyone to disappear from the pool area by 4 pm. Feels a bit odd. Not sure if it's because of the time of year but the pool area didn't have great sun all day long, always parts in shame and completely gone by 5pm. Family orientated pool area, everyone will leave floaties out and all share etc. Staff are great, will do anything for you. Prices okay, the whole of Side a bit of a joke to be honest price wise! Local Efes at 5 euros a pint is just taking the p**s! I can get Efes for under 2 quid a pint in the UK! Entertainment is alright, acrobatics good but probbaly only on about 20 minutes. Line dancing, karaoke and bingo rest of it. But then again it's 3 star so don't expect a lot. They will stay open as long as you want mind, 2 am or 3am the bar will be open with music on, I didn't mind, didn't hear a thing but hears some saying it's loud in their room closer to bar area. Then the stand are back up 1st thing in the morning, don't know how they do it, hats off to them! There's a decent slice in the main pool, only open 10-12 then 2-4. Lots of people who return to the hotel year on year and you can see why, not sure if I would, just rather try somewhere else. Plenty in the local vicinity, shops wise mostly crap quality junk, again mostly average food places charging above average prices. Old Town a nice place to try. Beach 15 minute walk, nice enough.

Just back from a wonderful 10 days Arrived late evening and was welcomed immediately Unfortunately we had asked for a two bed apartment as both myself and my brother in law had mobility difficulties , we were offered a third floor room up three flights of stairs !! However we managed to get there with help from the staff . They did say they would try and find another two bed , but they were all with stairs! Having unpacked we said we would manage And we did manage , very carefully using handrails when climbing those marble stairs 🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍♀️‍➡️ The rooms were basic but what we expected having read the previous reviews . Clean and spacious ! Air-con was 10 euro a night , WiFi free only at the pool area where the bar is Our view, was of the large pool above the bar area so rather loud at night It’s advertised as self catering but it’s obvious they don’t want you eating in your room Two rings that never got hot enough to cook anything sufficiently Large fridge freezer which was great for storing drinks etc Rooms cleaned everyday , supermarket on hand so water was able to be carried in for drinking , carried , again up those stairs!!🤣 By the end of the holiday we were fitter than ever ! Pools!! Again due to mobility I couldn’t use the metal steps into the pool which was deeper than my height Great for those who can dive in or jump in !! For those of us who aren’t swimmers it was so hard to get into and out of the water If they could graduate the edges so that you could safely walk in it would be great! Having said all that I did get into the quieter pool with help and loved it . The food was good but more expensive than surrounding restaurants so we tried a few . The nicest was next door Adam’s Bar ! Lamb cutlets were delicious! The Staff Oh my God they were exceptional !! If it wasn’t for the staff our holiday wouldn’t be the same They were so attentive , pleasant , funny , clever at making things seem effortless when they must be working all hours of the day . I couldn’t praise them enough and they make this hotel what it is ! A joy to be around them So for a cheap 10 days respite it was worth every penny Side is no longer the traditional Turkish village type location any more It’s become a parade of shops and restaurants The old town is being developed beautifully but it’s lost its sense of history Commercial tourism is now at its core Thank you for a wonderful holiday Denis , Alfie, Yas, Ahmed, Kelsum, Mohamed and all the staff , cleaners etc You made our holiday joyful xxx
