I dont normally write reviews but feel on this occasion a review is warranted. We chose Horus Paradise Luxury resort as it seemed to be high ranking with good feedback from the On the Beach website from where we booked our holiday. On the whole the Hotel resort is reasonable but Paradise Luxury it is not! The service is what lets it down: - on arrival there was no real staff to receive us or our bags which I would expect in a 5 star resort. - on check in, it was done without any real charm or proper welcome, nothing was explained to us in terms of restaurants, food, facilties and we had to ask about everything and they did not pass us any information that was left for us by the Tour Operator - we found the reception staff on the whole not that friendly or helpful and it felt like asking them for help or guidance was too much effort for them The room was a good size and i believe we were provided a larger room than our booking so I am thankful for that but the room was not well maintained, with lights not working, taps leaking, cupboard not opening and despite asking them on multiple occasions to fix the things that were not right in the room, only part of it was addressed - i gave up asking for a while. The lady in the Spa who was resposbible for the beach towels was a real charmer....not! a smile from her seemed too much and she just came across arrogant and rude. There were not enough staff in the restaurant, no one to show us to our table, no one to serve drinks (tea / coffee) - everything was self service, including often gettings one own cutlery. The food became to same each day with very little in the way of themed nights with different cuisine in the restaurant. Whilst it is All Inclusive, a lot of things were often just priced extra, i mean to charge for blowing up infltables for the pool seemed just cheeky and scrapping the barrel to get as much money as they could. I even paid extra to get wifi in the room, only to learn it would only support one device at a time which is just riduculous - a 5 star resort should not be so cheap in charging their guests at evey opportunity. I appreciate it was not high season but there just not enough staff around to feel that the resort was fully operational. The resort is a good size and has plenty to offer but compared to all inclusives in the carribean for example, it fall short.
