“Nice relaxing holiday”

First time in this hotel and it is lovely. Rooms are really nice, friendly staff and food was good. The alcoholic drinks were all brands which was a nice touch. Previous hotels I have been to you had to specifically ask for brands but not here. The only downside to this hotel was people reserving beds on the beach especially the front row. Every day of our holiday these beds were all reserved before 6am with the same people on them each day. The hotel is predominantly German with very little British. The only other downside is smoking. The hotel should be one side smoking and the other side non smoking. I noticed at the snack bar at the beach there would be non smoking tables with ashtrays on them therefore people would smoke on these tables. It is not very nice when you are trying to eat and the tables around you are all smoking. This happened on the beach too you are surrounded by people smoking - they should make one side smoking and the other side non smoking - suggestion for going forward. Apart from the smoking and the dumbed reservation everything else was lovely. Weather was exceptionally hot but the hotel and your room was air conditioned. Outside the hotel there are a few shops but all wanted euros and quite expensive. Normally you can barter but a few were saying this year fixed price therefore I did not buy much. If the price is right I would go back to this hotel.

“Slight drop in standard”

Fourth time at this hotel always rated it 5* but 4* this time as we felt standards had dropped slightly. Fourth time at this hotel always rated it 5* but 4* this time as we felt standards had dropped slightly. Dress code for dinner was dropped, some people turning up in jean shorts and swimming style shorts, not smart shorts. Run out of basic food sometimes by 19.45 ie chinese vegetable stir fry replaced with grilled pepper, tomatoes, onions and sometimes food was lukewarm. It's not as if we were having dinner late in the evening. Entertainment was not as good as previous years. The cleanliness of the hotel, staff and service all around were excellent and cannot fault that at all.

The fabric of this hotel is exceptional - the decor, the furnishings are all high quality. The buffet food is varied and plentiful but often repetitive. The quality is generally very good. All bars serve premium brand spirit alcohol - the beers both draft & bottled are top brands. The restaurants close a little early for us at 9pm. The two ala carte restaurants are in fact both in one room. Need to be pre-booked and strangely you must choose your main course from just 3 options at the time of booking ! We chose the Italian option to find that as soon as you are seated you are asked to choose your starter & dessert ! My wife chose the Minestrone soup and was shocked to see that it was seriously green with all sorts of vegetables - no sign of any pasta pieces or tomato !! Not very impressed with the ala carte. Also the fish ala carte main courses were 2 fish dishes or meat stew ! In the room the WIFI speed was poor and the AC would shut itself down randomly. Consequently we woke very warm on a number of mornings. We complained but the hotel checked it and said nothing was wrong with it. If you are expecting quality evening entertainment then don't come to this hotel. It starts at 9.15pm and it's all over by 11pm unless you want to go to the deafening disco ! In our 12 nights we saw just 2 live music acts and 8 repetitive dance shows with 2 nights where there was no entertainment at all because every Sunday the whole entertainment team take the day off !!!!!!!! The dance shows finished at 10pm (thank goodness) and then from 10 till 11pm there was just the DJ playing tracks at the bar !! The entertainment overall was 3 star. The pool was good but sunbeds were sometimes scarce. One very unusual & concerning practice (from a safety viewpoint) is that drinks are served in glasses & glass bottles in and around the pool !!! The staff generally were very good and helpful but at times waiters were difficult to find. The occupancy when we stayed was 95% German. A pity about the issues as otherwise I would have rated this hotel 5 star.

“Very well run hotel - the pros and cons”

This is a very well-run hotel. We stayed for a week in early June 2024. The room was large and the overall facilities are great. The food is excellent with a huge choice (and I mean a huge choice). Breakfast and lunch deserve a mention - special call-out to Bilal (great waiter) and the very lovely and happy girl - Rav (I think) - who cooks the fresh omelettes - an absolutely amazing positive attitude. Here are some pros and cons ... Pros - great food, great service, (except for a couple of difficult waiters who work the dinner shift). Enough sun beds around the pool as a lot of people head for the beach, which is very busy. There are some great staff in other areas too - the girls who wait tables in the piano bar are excellent, intelligent, and good fun. Cons - it's 80% German, nothing wrong with that in the main - they're a decent bunch - but it seems most (yep most) smoke. No issue at meal times as there are no smoking areas, but all too often the people on the next sun beds will be smokers - often virtually chain smokers. An element of Brits smoke of course, but nothing like the number of Germans. A couple of the dinner waiters are a bit 'off'. Not rude but close to it, and they seem a bit surprised when you seek a second or third glass of wine with your relaxing meal - almost as though it's actually costing them ... but don't worry most staff are great. A few suggestions for the hotel ... Why not consider creating smoking and no smoking areas around the pool - or simply ban smoking and create a smoking area where people go for a 'fag'. Not all Germans smoke and it must be annoying for ALL non-smokers as smoke drifts across all the sunbeds. Also, I think most people would be happy if the hotel fully enforced the long trouser no t-shirt rule at dinner. And because people flout the rule and get away with it, others join in. Maybe create an area where you can have dinner in shorts and a t-shirt. In the main, most people make the effort - and it's awful to see some of the types who can't be bothered. Difficult to enfoce I know, but I'm sure most people check out the hotel and know there's a dinner dress code. It's far nicer to see people dressed up a little, rather than slobbed out in beach wear.
