I traveled to Turkey with my partner, 4 year old son and Mother-in-law and booked 2 rooms for 2 weeks, 1 room for my Mother-in-law, the other for myself, son and partner. Below I will list the positives and negatives to make it easier for people to read quickly and easily. NEGATIVES: -Overbooking seems to be a regular thing at Club Mermaid. We arrived late (11pm ish) to be told we will have to all share one room for the first night as they had over booked. I read a lot of reviews saying this before we went but didn't realise how often this would occur to people, as I found out from speaking to other guests at the hotel. -Reception staff not very welcoming or friendly, tried to make us feel like we should just be grateful we had one room instead of the two we booked. No apologies for the error either. -Food and drink is OK at best. Most of the options are pretty basic. Very limited choice of fruits (apple, pear and watermelon), fresh Orange juice is an extra cost. If travelling with kids, ice cream isn't included in the all-inclusive (unless you want to wait for 30 mins in a queue by the pool between 3pm-4pm) where there is an option of chocolate or vanilla ice cream. -Room cleaning is very random, some days they won't clean it at all, other days they will do it and leave you without toilet roll or fresh towels. -Extra charge for WIFI, but I wouldn't bother as it cuts out all the time and is pretty shocking when you've got it connected. -Reps from tattoo shops and restaurants wandering around the pool areas every day. Won't take no for an answer. POSITIVES: -Rooms are pretty big and relatively clean. -Both pools are clean, spacious and safe for kids. Lots of pool entertainment throughout the day. Poolside bar for food and drinks is very convenient. -Kids entertainment is very good and the staff are friendly and approachable. -Free shuttle to the beach but probably better off walking as it only takes 5 minutes. -I forget his name but the man who deals with excursions is very friendly and helpful, worth speaking to him on the 1st day if you have any queries. Seems very honest and genuine.
