“Great holiday but not a 5 star”

We had to change our hotel 2 days before going on holiday so there wasn't many options left so we went with Crystal centro, we had a great time and it is a decent hotel but definitely do not expect 5 star I would say 3 star + to 4 at most. We weren't given any information at reception about anything which I wasn't happy about. The hotel had its good points and bad points, on first impression when we arrived we went straight for good it wasn't long before the evening buffet was finished, the food was not good we thought it was because it was nearly closing but no it was the same every night, we soon learned there was a grill place just outside the buffet area which was lovely but also same every night so also got sick of that but we always found something so wasn't too bad. Next we went up to the room there was no actual beds for the kids there was one couch and 1 pull out bed which was awful, no sheets or anything for them, the balcony was awful was like a prison cell, how that room can be called a suite I'll never know, we had fresh towels and bedding everyday but wasn't really cleaned. Pool areas were fab however they were like ice baths at this time of year but we still had plenty fun, we all enjoyed the slides. Drinks I found quite good actually, the square bar was the best drinks, the bar near the beach sunset beach bar I think it was called sometimes the cups weren't cleaned properly. The snack bar was nice food however quite often got your orders wrong, twice my daughter was still sat waiting for hers when we had all finished, had to keep asking where it was, but it was nice food. The patisserie was nice, ice creams were lovely and some of the desserts lovely. We had some lovely pictures done off the photographer, he and his wife were lovely. The entertainment was not great, there was 1 show in the 10 nights we were there which was great but 1 in 10 nights not good, the love music they had on want great apart from 1 which was 3 girls and a man they were good. Kids club was good my girls went in a few times when they fancied and they enjoyed it the girls seemed lovely. Most of the bar Staff always seemed nice and friendly. We went down to the beach a few times one day we sat in a beach hut and a woman come over saying it was hers and she's paid for it, apparently you have to reserve them at reception but as we were told nothing when we checked in how were we supposed to know, anyway the beach huts are fab, you have electricity and a little fridge. So over all it's a nice hotel but definitely not 5 star.

“Unexpectedly good!”

We originally booked Crystal Tat Beach, but we were told the day before we were due to fly that the hotel had closed! Not ideal. We were given the option of Crystal Waterworld or Crystal Centro as alternatives and we opted for Centro. The change of hotel wasn't confirmed until 3 hours before we flew (which was a bit stressful!) The reception and lobby area isn't as welcoming and impressive as other Turkey hotels we've stayed in. However, everything else about our holiday was great. The waterpark kept our children entertained for hours and the pool areas were all clean and well kept. We really enjoyed the food options. Lots of choice and really fresh. No poorly tummies in our party of 9! The patisserie was a big hit with our family. The ice cream and pastries were delicious! It's open until 11pm, which was a bonus. We used the spa for a Turkish bath, which was great value for money and so relaxing. The room cleaning wasn't great. The towels were changed daily and the beds were made, but that was it. I don't think the bathroom was cleaned at all during our stay. It didn't bother us hugely as it wasn't 'dirty' but it felt that no cleaning had actually taken place. It's close to being 5 star but it needs a bit of money spent on appearance and maintenance in some areas. This didn't affect our holiday though. Location is great. There are shops outside the hotel and lots of options for clothes and gifts etc. Transfer is only 20 minutes from the airport. We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely stay here again!

Family room could be more comfortable for children, adults bed was nice and big and quite comfy. Balcony nice but furniture took over so couldn’t move along. Housekeeping do a nice job. Lots of little complimentary toiletries- more than I’ve seen before. Nice touch! With Turkish delights and choccy. On arrival was seen to straight away checked in early and allowed to use facilities until room was ready which was quick. I would have liked to be told all the info though- meal times, entertainment times, slide times but we had to work it all out ourselves. the rooms were nice but the shower didn’t drain well which left bathroom wet after family of 4 had showered. Pools were FREEZING!! We went in October half term so understand end of season but I’m talking ice bath! Staff spoke little English and us little Turkish so language barrier was an issue quite a few times!! Entertainment wasn’t great for kids or adults- would be nice to have more shows. Slides shut for an hour at lunch- why????!! Best time of the day and you close them? Slides shut at 5!? Why- sun still shining why close them? Food quality varied day to day. Buffet was pretty much the same everyday and got boring. Not always hot either. Deserts look great but bland and sometimes runny or lumpy. Maybe end of season and using everything up but after few days we wernt bothered about the food. Food tasted lovely from the snack bars was nice all the time mind you! Nice choice throughout the day but again service very poor and slow. Food in the Italian a là carte was nice but due to language barrier all came at different times and not quite what we’d asked for which was a huge shame! The bistro upstairs is a bit of a hit and miss disaster - it’s 24/7 yet don’t expect to be served quickly with 1 lady running it. Chef has BAD attitude and cannot make crème brûlée! It was liquid milk! Then argued that I was wrong- I had to Google it for them!! Then said they’d make a soufflé from scratch for me but takes 20 mins to which they gave to the next table then told me too late to order!? Had to translate on my phone what happened then they had to make it after chef slammed about in the kitchen. Breakfast in bistro also disaster- granola was mushy bran flakes in yoghurt. Scrambled eggs came out fried and kids crepes were omelettes with Nutella!? Alcohol- well don’t expect any! I appreciate they don’t want everyone drunk but there is no alcohol in those drinks!! Just gas in the beer! I know everyone points out negatives overall but with these improved it would be 5/5! I wouldn’t say 5star hotel maybe 3 or 4 but aslong as clean we are happy! Cannot complain at that at all!! We had a lovely time and would return to Turkey again. Visiting old Antalya was €30 in taxi and worth it. Waterfall trip was €180!!!! Plus photos! But was great fun. Don’t bother with quad bikes as was pointless and expensive! Quite boring and took ages to get there. Don’t worry about changing money! They except English or euros anyway! Popped to Belek- wouldn’t bother haha. Get pestered a lot! Hire your own quad bikes at the side of road and take them behind the shops- great fun!

We travelled as a group of 9, 2 adults and 1 child. We emailed the hotel in advance to say we wanted the rooms together, once we arrived only 2 families were. We checked in and the 3rd bed was not even made up, this was the same for all of us. I went downstairs to complain and said they would do it. We went for dinner as it was getting late, went back to the room and it still wasn’t done, so I had to go back to reception and tell them again, after 30 mins housekeeping came and made it. No duvet some thick blanket. We managed to find a duvet in a cupboard and put that under the sheet for some extra comfort for our daughter. Our beds was rock hard, struggled to sleep for a week. The rooms need un upgrade, and so does the hotel in various areas. The hallways and lifts are grubby, only cleaned once whilst we were there. The food and drinks were good. The lunch area is ok, prefer the buffet for lunch. It does get repetitive but it was ok. The pools were freezing cold. Some of the kids struggled as they could not be in there for long. They did enjoy the water slides. Overall we did have a good time. We booked the holiday in Sept 2023 and got a bargain for the price we paid so it wasn’t to bad of a hotel for what we paid. If we did pay a lot then this is would of been really disappointed. We did look at cancelling this holiday because of the reviews but glad we didn’t. This is definitely not a 5* hotel more like a 3*
