The hotel is generally very good, service is great, food is variable and tastes good and personal is very smiley and they try to do everything that they can to make you happy about your holiday. I would recommend this hotel in general. There are only minor problems about this hotel such as the bath shower etc... but this can be overcome by communicating the hotel.

“Sherwood hotel - nice family holiday.”

This is my first time to Turkey and stay in The Sherwood Hotel. I have found the staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area is very nice and great for children, lots of smaller pools, slides and areas for small children to enjoy. The rooms are pleasant and spacious, daily maids with towel changes. The food buffet is large and can always find food to eat. The Italian a alcarte restaurant is very nice, would have liked to visit a few more times. Hotel is large, lots of bars and seating areas. I would recommend this hotel for a family holiday with children under the ages of 12. There isn't much to see or visit around the hotel. We did a taxi ride to Belek City centre for shopping.

I really hoped I'd be writing a positive review, unfortunately I am not. My review is mixed and I will try to include positives, however the experience for me in particular was ruined with extreme sickness and diarrhea. We stayed at Sherwood for ten days. We went as three groups of four families. We arrived early hours of the 2nd August and had a great start, as we were with friends and our children were all enjoying the pool and slides. Throughout our holiday we enjoyed the pizza restaurant at lunch times. Our elder children/teens enjoyed the cakes and iced coffee. On the 6th August I came down with sickness, fatigue and diarrhea. This has now lasted six days and is ongoing. Other members of our group all experienced the same, starting mostly around the same time, varying in length. We have spoken to MANY other guests, all in the same situation. We reported this situation to the Jet2 rep and the hotel staff on the 8th August. The rep for Jet2 had to take plenty of notes as there were so many of us complaining of the same illness. What I'm most frustrated about is the attitude of hotel management. Very rude, dismissive and repeatedly saying that nobody else had reported being ill. The customers relations manager tried to tell me that "all those people with Jet2 were there for departure information". This was absolutely not true as I was sat in reception, with them all, complaining. She was extremely rude and unhelpful. What has caused this illness remains unknown. I have arrived home today and have been to see my GP for tests. So will hopefully get some answers. I sought medication from the pharmacy a few minutes walk from the hotel, more than once. I'm sure the hotel will comment on this review saying 'I did not seek medical advice from a doctor'. No, I did not as I was not willing to go to a hospital and leave my five year old daughter. I took medication to try to help. I also do not wish for the hotel to tell me the temperature is hot and it could be sunstroke. Severe sickness and diarrhea does not last for 6 days counting from sun stroke. Whilst on holiday we did not always see good hygiene around the hotel. For example, kebab meat being hung from 9am outside cooking in an open space. Water from toilets across the entrance to the theatre one evening, staff eating out of the nut container at the Wave bar which is served to guests. Staff touching personal mobile phones whilst in the restaurant, serving at bars etc. The toilets by the beach smelt very bed and often had no hand wash or paper towels. The female toilets by the slides never had hand wash. The pool, as others have commented was dirty. Our room: In general we were happy with our room. Bed were made and towels changed. After speaking to hotel about our illness and one very bad night of sickness from our 13 year old, they sent staff up to change our bedding and provide a deeper clean on my request. There were a couple of things that could be improved here - drying rail outside was broken and flooring damaged. A plug was also broken in our room two days before we left. Not ideal with a five year old but thankfully she's sensible and did not touch it. Good parts of our holiday - Our children enjoyed the slides and kids pool area. The entertainment was good and there was a variety of choice on evening. Some of the staff were polite and they do work hard. Even more so when staff in darker blue uniforms are shouting at them across restaurants. There is a variety of choice for places to eat in the day time. I didn't get to experience this as much as I'd hoped when booking but it is available. We saw more beautiful animals. Play area and rides are good for the children on an evening. I have tried to give a fair review here. It's very hard to me to give anything more positive as I've been so poorly. I hope the hotel take this on board and treat people with more kindness and understanding in the future.
