The vast amount of food choice from many restaurants and the buffet are just wow!! Will definitely be coming again! The patisserie, the burger house, the seafood restaurant. Ohhh laaaa laaaa! Wish we’d have booked longer this time round.

“Lovely hotel and entertainment, awful food”

Just got back from staying at this hotel with my husband and 4 year old daughter, we booked this hotel due to the amazing reviews. However, we have very mixed reviews. Location: 45 minutes from the airport, and only 10/15 minutes from belek shopping town and Land of legends. Taxis are quite expensive but very easy to barter the price. They are usually around €10-€20 each way. Hotel: Absolutely stunning interior and exterior, it’s very grand, modern and clean throughout. The outdoor areas are very well kept. One of the nicest looking hotels we’ve stayed at. We were greeted on arrival with champagne/juice and some cakes and the bell boy escorted us to our room with our luggage. Room: We stayed in one of the swim up villas (room 3111), a very beautiful and clean room. The bathroom had a stand alone bath, shower and 2 sinks, a sliding window that looked out to the bedroom, also a hidden tv in the mirror next to the bath which I loved! The living room had a sofa (assuming it turned in to a bed but we didn’t try it), a dressing table and a mirror/tv that you could spin around, a little kitchenette with tea/coffee/snacks and a mini fridge full of drinks. The bedroom had 2 double beds that were very comfy although the pillows weren’t the best, and our own terrace with a couple of comfy sun beds and a shared swimming pool. The aircon is also very good in these rooms, but on departure day we moved to another room (2104) as we needed a late check out and the aircon wasn’t so good. The balcony is also tiny, just about fits a table and 2 chairs. Swimming pools: All pools were perfect temperature for the very hot weather we had. There was a relaxing pool just outside where our room was but we didn’t use as our daughter is too loud, and it’s a very quiet area. The main pool had plenty of sunloungers, no need to reserve them. They had daily water activities and music, and there was also a little splash area for smaller kids. There are QR codes on the tables that you can order drinks from which was very handy. There’s a water park with 4 big slides which our daughter loved, and another kids pool with smaller slides. Restaurants/bars Probably the worst all inclusive food we’ve ever had. We didn’t try any of the a la carte restaurants as there wasn’t a lot to choose from and not anything we would have eaten, so we had no choice but to have breakfast and dinner in the buffet restaurant. It was not catered for the English at all, very much the same European food everyday and was always cold. There is a kids area but again none of the food was anything I would give a child, and they use leftovers from the night before. My daughter has actually lost a lot of weight from not wanting to eat anything, she pretty much only had yoghurt drinks every morning and pasta in the evening. We all had upset stomachs a few times throughout the holiday due to the awful food too. Only good thing about it was the selection of cakes. We had lunch everyday at the food court next to the main pool, again very average but much better than the buffet, and there’s also a burger restaurant which we only tried once after having an uncooked chicken burger! Room service was useless and again not much to choose from. There is however a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks that you can get from several bars around the hotel inside and outside. The beer house next to our room was nice, very peaceful. They give you a bowl or nuts and crisps when you sit down. There’s some other bars in the lobby area which we didn’t really use, and some around the pool area. Entertainment: The kids disco is a bit poor, the entertainers didn’t look like they wanted to be there, not energetic and hardly smiling and the music they played and danced to wasn’t English apart from the odd song. A couple of nights a very run down Minnie Mouse would come out, who didn’t really look like Minnie Mouse and had one eyebrows and a half torn off eye! However the evening entertainment was amazing and the best we’ve ever seen. Something different on every night, usually dancing or acrobats, we loved it. Although the host of these shows always spoke in another language so we had no idea what he was saying. Then after the evening entertainment they would have something else on, usually live music which went on until late. Staff: Very polite and accommodating but their English is extremely poor. Always got our drinks orders wrong, we had to use a translator on our phones most days/nights. A huge shoutout to Mahsa one of the girls who delivered drinks on roller skates around the main pool, she was SO lovely! And also to Gonul the girl who greets guests at the buffet restaurant entrance, always smiling and waving at our daughter when we walked in. The bell boys and receptionists were also very helpful and friendly. The photographers were a bit annoying though, constantly in your face trying to take photos and forcing you to buy them but the only ones we bought were when our daughter held a parrot. Guests: Some of the worst people we have ever been around. I think we only saw one English family throughout the whole holiday, it’s full of Russians and Germans who are extremely rude. Push in front of you in a queue to get food or drinks, or basically walk in to you when walking past them, they won’t move out the way for anyone. Seems their kids have also been brought up that way too, my daughter was waiting a while to kick a football at a kids festival they had on the first night we were there, I ended up pushing my daughter in front of them to have a turn as they kept jumping in front, and a little boy started screaming at her in his language. Beach: We only actually went on the beach once for about 15 minutes just to go in the sea, the sun beds get full up very quickly. But was a lovely clean sandy beach. For kids: There is a little park next to the beach which is better to use in the evening when it’s cooler, a few shallow pools and a kids club which we didn’t use Overall I probably wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want good food or to talk to people. It doesn’t cater to English people at all and we were disappointed, might be because we went in term time. This was our first holiday to Turkey so we wanted the best hotel but this hotel didn’t meet the standards. The hotel up the road Granada Luxury Belek looked much better, or any other hotels on Lara Beach.
