HONEST review , been coming to Olu deniz for over 30 years now and stayed at many hotels around the area but always come back here , here is a review of everything. Staff - are all friendly , the animation team are just amazing Fifi and sima do absolutely amazing , the waiters and bar staff are all great and work hard ( a few could be a bit happier 😂) the cleaners are just brilliant and always do what they can to help even if they can’t talk English. Rooms - very clean maid came changed beds and towels every two days , really spacious and loads of space for clothes. Food/drink- drinks are served in plastic cups around the pool at at night but can be in glass if you ask , very generous with amounts , I found the plastic glasses to smell a bit like they been rinsed with a dirty dish cloth so tended to ask for a glass. Food was very hit and miss in fussy so struggled a lot but my husband always found something , it’s a lot of the same every day , if management got this right then would be a perfect hotel, the pancake place was a perfect addition this year l. All in all I love this hotel and will be back just wish they would get the food right xx

“AWESOME!”

It was a great experience to stay at this hotel!! Best in Oludeniz Area!! I kept extending my stay up to 20 days. Especially Sima and Ridvan (Fifi), they are great Animators and their interaction with people is AMAZING!! They have fun and they make people have fun! I am here next year definitely!

This was my second stay at the Montebello Resort and, despite a few flaws, I would stay again. This could be an amazing hotel and actually live up to it's 4* rating if a few things were improved. Firstly, the dining experience. Breakfast is ok so long as you like eggs. Boiled, scrambled, eggs with 'sausage', eggs with spinach, omelette, fried egg... A little more imagination for the hot choice wouldn't go amiss. But there's cereal, yoghurt, cold meats and cheese, American pancakes, croissants and of course the breakfast staple - chips. 🤦 The restaurant area is ground floor, dark, dingy and dirty looking. The tables aren't set, you have to play hunt the cutlery which isn't necessarily anywhere near the food it is intended for. The knives are blunt. You may as well try to cut your chop with a spoon. Providing you can find a spoon.... The wooden chairs are VERY heavy and difficult to move so people end up sitting miles away from the table because you can't get them in any closer. The waiters don't look at all smart. Some don't even look clean. They are, however very keen to clear your table. Whether you've finished eating or not. It is not pleasant having your plate removed while you are still chewing. It is also annoying to find your table has been cleared whilst you have got up to get something else such as a coffee or dessert. This needs to be addressed by proper training. Lunch/snacks/pancakes are all ok and again available at the downstairs cafeteria area. Evening meal was served in the upstairs restaurant and was generally of good quality with lots of choice. Until the hotel decided to shut this restaurant and serve the evening meal downstairs. This resulted in less choice but the quality also suffered. Also the dining room isn't the comfortable, aesthetically pleasing surroundings that you would expect to be served your evening meal in in a 4* hotel. Very disappointing. Again, the waiting staff stood around chatting or on their phone waiting to pounce and practically take the plate from under your nose. Several times I had my drink picked up before I had finished. Talking of drinks, the small bar area in the restaurant is only open at meal times and they will serve your cold drink in a hot glass. Beer, coke.... Knocked flat immediately with the heat. Training. Attention to detail. Lacking. The only bar in this hotel is the pool bar. Day or night. So if you want a quiet drink in a comfy seat in the evening you're out of luck. Again, not the expected standard for a 4* hotel. So to the pool bar. This is where the evening entertainment is held. Generally of the usual standard but because there is no stage and the area is covered actually being able to see the performance is a bit hit and miss. The bar staff work very hard and are pleasant. The AI drinks choice is poor. Beer. Efes is ok. Spirit options are gin, vodka or raki. 'Cocktails' are made with one spirit, syrup and lemonade or other soft drink. And served in a plastic Efes beaker. The spirits are kept out of sight from the guest so if there are more options you don't know about them unless you ask Wine is available. The rosé was like paint stripper. There was no sparkling wine choice. So all in all the drinks were below par. The pool area is pleasant enough. The tiles can be lethal with wet feet. The sunbeds are packed together.... The rooms have everything you need. If you're on the mountain side of the hotel be prepared to be woken at the crack of dawn by the call to prayer from the mosque just up the road. I nearly jumped out of bed a few times with the fright. We were also woken at 4:30 am with a smoke alarm going off. Guests had to go to seek staff to attend to it which is a bit of a worry had there actually been a fire. I had twin beds. One was rock hard. The other not quite as hard. Some guests bought lilos to sleep on. Not great if you suffer with your back. The cleaners were lovely. Towels and beds changed regularly. Beds weren't moved to be cleaned under though. I had a spare bed/settee in my room which was a nuisance just by being there but even more so when the maid came into my room unexpectedly to store spare towels in it. I was lying half naked on my bed reading and cooling down when she came in unannounced. They can also be quite brazen about being tipped. Mine wasn't too pushy but it was still very obvious what she was after. So keep some small change handy for when you get the towel and petal display on your bed. Reception staff are pleasant and helpful. There is a courtesy minibus to Seahorse beach club from the hotel which they will ring for you. The beach is lovely and cost 400TL for a sunbed and parasol for the day, including transfers. The hotel location is excellent. On the outskirts of Oludeniz but an easy walk to The Strip or beach. There's a dolmus stop just on the main road down from the hotel so getting around is really easy. Finally the entertainment team and Fred the photographer are brilliant. You must get your photos taken. They are superb and good value for money. All in all this is a good hotel. Things could be better but they're adequate. Improving the areas I think are lacking would make it an excellent hotel befitting of it's 4* rating. Having swim up rooms is one thing but the standard of the other facilities also need to live up to that level. Having said all that I had a lovely holiday and I would be happy to stay here again because I know exactly what I'm going to get. But if you go expecting a 4* hotel with 4* food, drinks, service and comfort then you will be disappointed. It's 3* at best.
