Marmaris Park is a fantastic hotel, the location, the staff, the food and, the oh so generous drinks! I have tried to do this review on things other people don’t mention, but bear in mind that I haven’t read the hundreds of reviews, so forgive me if I duplicate. When you check in you have to fill in some forms, they need your, and your partners, date of birth to allow you access to their WIFI. You will want to pay extra to get a safe key, from memory, I think it was about £18 for a 2 week stay. They also give you each a beach towel card. You take the card to the spa (at the bottom of the spiral staircase, near the pool bar area) and they swap the card for a towel. The towels can be changed daily by swapping them in the spa area between 8am-12pm. When departing you must return the towels and get your card back, so you can hand it back to reception when checking out. The WIFI is good if you keep in a straight line from the main hotel building down to the sea front. That covers reception, the upstairs terrace, the dinning and pool area, right down to the sea. Outside of this area (in your room) it can be pretty hit and miss, but we did hear that they upgrading it this winter, so next year it may, strongly, cover the entire site. Dolmus’s run to Icemeler and Marmaris from the top of the hotel drive. These buses are mini vans and often get very full. You want the mini vans that are orange and white. For Marmaris, you stay on the same side of the road as the hotel, for Icemeler you cross the road. The buses were 30 Turkish lira per person; when we went the rate was 44.5TL to the pound, so it is a cheap way to get around. Water taxi’s are available too, from the end of the Jetty. Jimmy usually sorts them for you, and don’t worry if you don’t know who Jimmy is, just wander down to the sea front and he will find you. He is also brilliant to book any excursions with, much cheaper than the holiday reps and if you book through Jimmy you also get collected and dropped off at the hotel. Breakfast and lunch times are not too busy in the restaurant, but dinner can get a bit hectic. From our experience, you either want to be there before 7pm (when they open) or leave it until after 8.30pm (close at 9, but that is just to collect food, you can take your time eating it). They also do great pizza at the beach bar around lunch time. If you have trouble with accessibility, this may not be the hotel for you, after all it is set in the side of a hill, so there are steps. If you are in between being ‘as fit as a fiddle’ and ‘needing a wheel chair’, ask for one of the ‘600’ rooms. These are in a block just off to the side of the main hotel building and have 2 lifts and from there it a short walk to the bar and restaurant and just one spiral staircase and a ramp away from the sea front. From these rooms, you can also exit the fire exit that leads to the top of the steep hotel drive and onto the main road. (Brilliant for dropping off your shopping in your room before you head down for a well deserved drink). Some people have said that the hotel is dated, but I think that is a personal point of view. I would say that it is traditionally Turkish. There is a lot of wood and you won’t find any gleaming chrome or expanses of glass panelling anywhere in site. Another advantage with it’s age is it’s landscaping, there are mature trees growing amongst the tables in the dining area and around the pool. Everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained, so whether you like the décor is down to whether you are a modernist or a traditionalist! The air conditioning in the room is brilliant. It can be set between 18-24oc. When you get into the room, selecting 18oc and ‘Jet’ and your room will be blissfully cool in around 5 minutes. When you leave your room, and remove your key from it’s designated slot, all the electricity will cut off, so remember to plug your phone in at night, while you sleep, because if you think it is charging during the day, while you are out, it wont.

“Spa and surroundings stunning”

Such a lovely time at marmaris park. Although we had to switch rooms as they gave us the room right by the disco which was noisy. Rooms on the mountain side were lovely and peaceful. Such a lovely time at marmaris park. Although we had to switch rooms as they gave us the room right by the disco which was noisy. Rooms on the mountain side were lovely and peaceful. Food was delicious and wine was very good. Staff all so friendly and looked after us so well. Pool area very clean and tidy and kids pool was brilliant for 2 year old. We found the pizza in the afternoons which was absolutely delicious The jetty and sea side was beautiful especially at sunset and sun rise. Really an asset to the hotel. We had a couple of treatments at the spa and we can highly recommend it. The people doing the massages were soooo good. Very strong and hit the right spots. The Turkish baths were incredible and the foam treatment was like walking through clouds highly recommend to anyone, I’m not even a spa fan but I loved it.

We recently stayed at the marmaris park hotel in September. Due to our flight being delayed we arrived early morning. The reception staff didn’t really speak any English they just gave us some form to fill out handed us a key and prompted us to exit and turn right. The room was clean and tidy, note the safes are not free. Our first night we were surprised at how loud the music was from the main bar. By the second night we soon realised that the music would continue and last all week as the outside speakers were located outside our room windows. That night we complained and asked to move rooms. The receptionist told us the music would finish at midnight, but we could change room the following day. In the morning we asked first thing if we could move due to the noise and was asked to return at 10am. Which we did only to be told no, at this point we contacted TUI. By 12 after complaining to TUI we were moved into a much quieter peaceful room. The hotel is located in the hillside which is lovely. The food is what you would expect from an all inclusive, however I would really recommend the Turkish À la carte the food was stunning. We visited the spa and had the Turkish bath which was fantastic. The owner was really nice, helpful and pleasant to talk to. It’s true what is reviewed about the sun loungers at the sea front get there after 7 and you won’t get one. I just wish the tour operators would print the country flags that mostly stay at these resorts as we may have chosen differently. It was a nice experience but I don’t think we could return as the majority of the guests were rude ignorant and pushed in front of you when you were queuing for drink and food.
