“A relaxed family holiday with a few niggles”

5 of us stayed here for 2 weeks. Returned home 11/11. We were given a family room on the 3rd floor of the main building. I had requested a cot both via the booking on Jet2 and I emailed the hotel directly who acknowledged my email, however there wasn't one in the room when we arrived. We didn't end up bringing this up in the morning at reception as the bed was quite large and fitted 3 of us in quite easily. We found there to be a good choice of food in the main restaurant but preferred to use the Italian and food court at lunchtimes. I was already aware that the Steakhouse had closed for the season and it does state who we booked with that most other facilities are weather and occupancy dependent on when they close. I didn't have a problem at all with this, however they aren't very good at communicating when they decide this will happen, the first we knew the Italian had closed for the season was sitting on the jetty and seeing all the tables and chairs stacked up. I had assumed it was staying open as we were booked in for there later in the week. I went to guest relations who explained to me that whilst the Italian restaurant itself was closed, the food court/Turkish would now alternate and be Turkish one night and Italian the next, which is absolutely fine, just again that hadn't been communicated to me the week before so I would have had no idea. I then explained how my autistic daughter eats a very limited range of foods and had just been having pizza from the Italian, the guest relations manager Seval arranged for the main restaurant to make her a Margherita pizza each day till we left which I was very grateful for. Later in the week the doner house also closed but again you didn't know till you walked down and saw it shut up. For our Al a cartes we tried the Chinese and the Italian. We enjoyed the Chinese but probably preferred the starters, especially the sushi (they brought them all out) over the mains, it was still a good meal and you get plenty of food. The Italian was on a whole other level though and the hotel had made a note of me mentioning the holiday being to celebrate my partner's birthday and had arranged for the staff to bring out a cake and sing Happy Birthday at the end. Entertainment wise there were darts, water polo volleyball, ping pong tournaments on during the day. In the evening there was a mini disco that my youngest enjoyed, some nights would just be a DJ but with a theme (one night was 80s/90s) They had a Halloween party whilst we were there, a local band played at the Beach Bar and we saw the band Chillax and Kenyan acrobats in the Amphitheater. It being the end of season I wasn't expecting much but feel they surpassed my expectations and don't see how some people claim the entertainment was nonexistent. The Boss Dance Camp and LaPerla Tango Festival dancers were there during our stay but we didn't experience any problems or noise. I think it's the Zaya/Bachata Congress that tends to cause issues. We also didn't find any areas to be too noisy at any time of the day/night, my partner commented that you could hear every time someone was walking past the kids room but again it wasn't excessively noisy or late in the night that it kept my 8/17 year old awake or woke them up. On our last day my partner had realised the night before he had left his hoodie in the games room, he visited reception, told him to come back at 3 when it was due to reopen, even after explaining we were due to leave at 12 the guy wasn't interested. So we visited Seval in Guest Relations again who rung the Security manager who took my partner down to the games room where he found his hoodie. I only mention this as I don't really think it's something that needed to involve Guest Relations and the receptionist could have been a bit more helpful. We really enjoyed being on the jetty and in the sea, but the fish in the water are liable to have a little nip of you. We did 2 boat trips whilst we were here, one was with the Black Pearl and the other was the hotel boat trip. We personally preferred the Black Pearl as we found the staff a bit more interactive and livelier, same goes for the music (but it wasn't OTT and like a party boat) Overall we enjoyed our stay, we liked the location and how easily you could get into Marmaris via the dolmus for a change of pace. Whilst we feel there is room for improvements and we wouldn't exclusively seek this hotel out on our next trip to Marmaris, we would still be quite happy to return at some point in the future if we found a good deal.

“Honest review”

Don’t trust some of the previous reviews we are here now and can’t find fault foods fine hotel spotless. Staff pleasant only suggest if you don’t like cats don’t come. Still got 5 days left will give update at end of holiday but so far no complaints.

It’s taken me a while to get round to writing this review, we stayed here for just over a week arriving 18th October. 4 adults and 3 children. I will prefix this review by saying we have been to Turkey in October several times before but like to try different hotels / areas. We’ve always been really pleased with the quality and standards in the 4 and 5* hotels we’ve been to. Firstly if you do go there, I’d recommend booking a private transfer as the hotel is quite a long way from Dalaman Airport. The hotel is in a lovely setting and we liked the area, it has fantastic potential but was unfortunately lacking for us for the following reasons *Had to request a room change due to the smell of drains in one room *Sandwhich and soup area filthy on arrival and not enough bread to feed us all. *Rooms tired and bedding inadequate - thin blanket on the bed which wasn’t big enough, had to request a duvet. *Steakhouse restaurant closed and almost impossible to book any a la carte restaurant. Had to take the last booking in the Turkish a la carte which was our last choice even though we booked on our first day. *Had to ask for drinks service in the main restaurant most days, food OK and functional but lacking a wow factor. *Heard from other guests that rats had been seen in the restaurant although didn’t see these ourselves. *Pool area ok but needs more frequent tidying / bins emptied more frequently. *Pool bar toilets need more attention, often dirty with no toilet paper. *Beach bar toilets filthy in the evening with no toilet paper or soap. *Entertainment not the standard we have enjoyed elsewhere. Some nights is just a DJ / music at the beach bar. The Kenyan Acrobats were fantastic though. *2 children in our party were struck with D&V and speaking to other guests it seems there were quite a few others at the hotel with it at the same time. The cats by the pool bar are adorable but they need flea treatment!! Unfortunately I wouldn’t return to this hotel or recommend to others, there are much better hotels in Turkey. Jiva Beach and the Hilton Dalaman knock spots off this one. Shame, as this could be amazing with a lot more attention to detail!

High expectations given previous visit and reviews, somewhat disappointed Pros - Amazing location, choice of a La carte restaurants, Italian as a lunch option with a beautiful views, lovely beach, family room had 2 bathrooms and 2 bathrooms Cons - Arrived 30/10 for 10 nights very busy the first week that coupled with a lack of service led to long waits at the bar No service around the pool Entertainment very poor partially given the lack of it Service in the main restaurant poor tending to have to hunt out your own cutlery, this did improve over time possibly given that it got much quieter Choice of food and temperature wasn’t great I appreciate that I booked the end of season but even still website suggested facilities would be open until end of Nov depending upon occupancy given this and the reviews I was hoping for more and therefore will not be returning Tip if u like JD buy a bottle in duty free as they were quoting £19 (roughly) a single, although advertised as a all inclusive plus
