We had a wonderful stay at Hillside. We stayed in room 476 which was perfect for us. It is pretty much one of the furthest blocks away from the main hotel so a bit of a walk, but it meant there were less people walking past, less noise etc. The rooms are basic. Not posh but very comfortable. Lots of lovely bathroom products (body sponge, body scrub, hair accessories as well as the normal soaps and shampoo). The rooms are cleaned every day. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the pillows are the best pillows I’ve ever slept on. They have a pillow menu so you can try different options. The food was delicious and caters towards everyone’s tastes. The main buffet restaurant can be noisy and does lack in atmosphere somewhat but the service and food is so good we didn’t mind. We also ate one night in the Italian restaurant and one night at Pasha restaurant. They were a nice break from the buffet and service and food yet again spot on. Late breakfast at Pasha was also a great option. I preferred lunch at the beach restaurant for the views of the sea and being outside but our 13 year old daughter preferred the buffet option. The entertainment offered at night is like nothing I’ve seen before. Amazing shows (we didn’t watch them all as some were geared towards very young kids but were apparently also amazing). Movies on the beach at night were also on offer. The entertainers themselves are what made our stay perfect. They all work so hard and are always happy and smiley and genuinely seem to want you to have the best stay. In fact the same goes for all the staff who work here. They are all very hard working.

After trying many smaller hotels in Turkey we decided on a large resort. This review focuses on what as an older couple who like quiet places think. This resort we felt is very much focused on the young and family. It was predominately Turkish guests with very young children and couples. The food was outstanding, and we ate predominantly in the buffet restaurant which had an exceptional choice. It was often spoiled by small children screaming, rolling on the floor and throwing food everywhere. Fortunately there is an adults only area at the side.The staff here are young and enthusiastic. I could not fault them. There is a vast selection of activities for the family and sportsman. The room are basic but stocked with numerous toiletries and extras. We were given a room in block 400, which is way from the evening music and general racket. The 3 beaches were all different. The main central beach is packed with sunbeds and annoying background music. The silent beach was absolutely wonderful and without it we may well have checked out. Quiet, no music, no phones (some people ignore this) or children ~(some sneaked in). Oh and no smoking although Turks still seem to smoke everywhere, even in restaurants. Despite these negatives this is a terrific resort. The noise levels were quite unbelievable though, how people in the central blocks could sleep I don’t know. It would boom away into the early hours. Do they assume everyone wants to be in clubland all the time or is tone deaf ?

Paradise beach. Clear waters. Best vacation ever. Last summer our First day was excellent. However, my wife had a minor accient and sprained her an le. The was very helpful in accommodating our needs. She had to stay in yhe room the rest of our vacation. Still, we enjoyed the music and shows. Our dream was to go back this year. The reception advised we should do an early booking and provide a contact number. We staryed calling in September to reserve a room suitable for us. They were very frşrndly in responding yet they postponed the congirmstion vontinuously. On or Last talk at the end of May, we were told we were still waitlisted. This was a huge disappointment after three calls. Do, we Will never come back.

“Horrifically noisy resort - if you or your children want to sleep before midnight this is not for you.”

This is very much a review of two halves. We will start with the bad as for us it has defined our stay here. The noise at night is off the scale, completely unnecessarily loud. In the day it's so peaceful here, and then at 5pm the noise starts and it doesn't stop until midnight. The poolside always has music, but just as the afternoon draws to a close the beautiful beach has the volume of music ramped up to unbearable, all consuming levels, and then at 8.30pm the kids disco kicks in at the (open air) main venue. This is always followed by a show, and there is nothing more dispiriting than trying to soothe your small children to bed as a dance troupe murders Bad Romance at maximum decibels knowing you still have two hours of music to get through. It was so loud the first night I actually thought I had left the windows open by accident. After the show, every other night seems to mean another live concert, and this lasts until midnight. So don't expect to get any sleep before midnight. I'm recovering from a heart condition, so this is a nightmare we could really do without. We have moved from close to the music venue to a room in the 300s and it's barely any different so I don't think distance is much of a factor either. It's called Hillside for a reason, and the noise travels up and down the hill with wild abandon. The other negative factor is the bathroom which is off a courtyard behind a bead door, so if you need the loo in the night be prepared to battle floor length gauze and black out curtains, a door and the beads, and back again. This is a faff and it's at best quirky, at worst dated and impractical. The good is everywhere. Brilliant food, beautiful location, stunning clear blue sea, lovely staff, really great range of activities and a fantastic kids club. There is so much that's brilliant here and the well heeled and clearly regular guests are testament to everything Hillside does right. But all the Brits with small children are walking around with a somewhat dazed expression from the lack of sleep. If you have older children or like watching cruise ship style entertainment (not at all for us) you will love this. But if you're expecting Ikos or Costa Navarino, or any form of peace anywhere at night time, don't come here.
