A small hotel ideally located on the river and a 5 minute walk from the main town. Staff were friendly and service was good, they definitely made you feel welcome there. Breakfast was nice with an assortment of fruit, yogurt, meats and a small choice of cooked items, however if you are after a full English this isn’t for you (plenty of restaurants in the town do offer it though) Rooms were clean and well decorated with a nice size bathroom and shower. If you want an outside space to sit outside your room you would need to be on the ground floor as the upper rooms don’t have a balcony. It had a nice size pool and plenty of beds, you could always find one free. If you don’t want to sit by the pool they have a nice garden area with more sun loungersnthat overlooks the river and had mountain views. You could eat lunch there but no evening restaurant but that wasn’t a problem as you were so close to town where there were plenty of places to eat. The pool bar stayed open late, basically until the last guest decided to go to bed! We spent all our evenings here as it was such a nice atmosphere and plenty of chats amongst guests, a benefit of being in a small hotel! I would highly recommend the hotel and Dalyan in general. We will definitely be going back again.

“Couldn't wait to return! ”

We haven't been able to review until now because of TripAdvisor rules but we actually returned back to the Portakal 7 weeks after our 1st visit as we loved it so much! We haven't been able to review until now because of TripAdvisor rules but we actually returned back to the Portakal 7 weeks after our 1st visit as we loved it so much! Everyone remembered us as soon as we got there, and it just confirmed just why we fell in love with the place back in July. Cuneypt and Mehtap are great people - they own the business but spend their evenings around the bar talking with their guests, a real nice touch. Ramazan was brilliant as usual, keeping everyone entertained and always smiling, he's a brilliant asset to the hotel. We are already planning to return next year when the season re-opens, it cannot come soon enough for us!

We spent a great 12 days in Dalyan at the Portakal hotel at the beginning of October. It’s a lovely hotel with good sized rooms and bathrooms. We spent a great 12 days in Dalyan at the Portakal hotel at the beginning of October. It’s a lovely hotel with good sized rooms and bathrooms. The hotel is beside the river and is a short walk into town. The grounds are very clean with staff constantly clearing tables and sweeping up. The breakfast has lots of options and helpful staff. The best part was the friendly and professional staff. A big shout out to Mr T, Ramz, Abdul and Yusaff. We felt welcomed and would love to visit again. Anne and Dave

“Didn’t want to come home.”

What can I say about this hotel……well for starters it’s one of the best I’ve stayed at in Turkey and I’ve been coming for 12 years. Dalyan itself is a delight. As a huge animal lover I find it very animal, wildlife and nature friendly. This hotel surpasses expectations. All the staff are friendly, professional and personable. One in particular who stood out for me is probably the newest member of staff and that is Mr T. Always happy to chat, ask you about your day, offer help where needed and just generally an all round nice guy. The rooms are a delight. Spacious and clean as are the hotel grounds and restaurant area. Breakfast is above average, the owners are on hand should you wish to speak to them and what was especially delightful was that Mehtap was always at the entrance to the hotel to see her guests off on leaving day. You definitely don’t find that in very many hotels! Ramazan, the bar manager, appears to be a long standing favourite of regular hotel guests, and also thinks himself as a bit of a comedian……don’t give up the day job Ramazan……hope that doesn’t get lost in translation! A popular young man amongst hotel guests. The day bar staff are equally well thought of and an asset to the hotel. I spent many days out on boat trips, at the beach and assisting the wonderful regular volunteers at the Dalyan Dog Shelter. If you are a dog lover, please message them, go and walk a few dogs and give them a hand, they will be so so grateful, dogs and humans! The Portakal is, indeed, one I hope to return to and would recommend wholeheartedly. Dalyan itself is a delight.
