Selectum Colours Hotel Gumbet near Bodrum. Stayed Oct 28th 2024 for 10 days with son and his family. Weather good, sunny every day and temperature 27-23C. No rain at all. Food and staff really excellent and plentiful even when hotel was winding down with only 200 guests (max 1200). Puddings attractive but I suspect were mostly factory bought in, all other food cooked in house. Regular staples like soups, fried eggs, spaghetti and Diet Section usually in the same place on the buffet so that's a time saver as you rarely get a hot plate. Selection of food does change daily. No saccharine or sweeteners so bring your own! No bacon of course. The hotel was probably deluxe in its day but the many slopes and stairs (most, not all with handrails) would not be satisfactory in these H & S days but the rooms are decent size, shower good with wall dispensers of Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion, hair dryer & Air con. Lifts enable guests to get to most places even the beach. Kettle and supplies of tea, coffee and crema in the room t/w free water, sodas and beer in the mini fridge. Get milk from the breakfast buffet. Balcony. Location good as 15 minute taxi ride from Bodrum centre. Only noticed one solo guest and 3 or 4 walking stick guests. One young mum had tripped and was in a wheelchair. The varying step heights and slopes and steps made me nervous especially in the half light of evening so as a fit 81 year old I will probably not return but the younger family members very likely would as with its own beach, heated indoor pool, gym, games room, kids club and activities it is ideal for families. Wet Kits are half the hotel price in the shops just down the hill. Sad that there is no reuse corner whereby discarded play equipment can be deposited and reused. Hopefully guests gift on gear to new arrivals. The sandy beach area enjoys a very large shallow area for swimmers and non swimmers alike. Proper ground bean coffee served in the Lobby bar. Book the A La carte Restaurants early as all good, especially the Fish which had fish knives! Book swop shelf near reception. We got an excellent cheap deal as close to the winter shut down. Try for a free sea view upgrade. Local food is mostly expensive.

Holidayed as a family. 2 adults 2 children 7 and 9years. Lovely hotel beachfront location. Lots of choice for food and places to eat and snacks (waffle hut. Ice cream. Cake shop. Beach hut). A la carte restaurants are open in the daytime - dont have to book to use. We didn't have a bad meal. We managed to get sunbeds around the pool and beach everyday. We spent most days at the beach due to the pool being too deep for the kids (140cm) and too cold. But we prefer the beach anyway. So not a problem. We didn't use the kids club as the kids were happy enough on the beach. The room was spacious ( double with bunk bed). But could of been a bit cleaner. Air con not the best. But for the time of year it wasn't a problem. We would definitely return . Outside the hotel - 5/10min walk into gumbet to bars and shops. We also took the service bus into Bodrum twice for a change of scenery. Which took 15/20min. We had a lovely peaceful holiday 25c sunshine everyday. Wouldn't recommend if allergic to cats 😄

“Lying staff and please don't go with a baby”

Don't go with a baby -- pools are ice cold even in the "transition months". We stayed for swimming with the little one, but none of the pools were heated. This was end of October/beginning of November. The management flat out lied to us, and only upon showing their own webpage they procured a clearly fabricated screenshot -- they'd only heat the baby pool for 2 weeks, Nov 1-Nov 13... Given that it costs about GBP5 a day to heat the baby pool, this is really frustrating. Even worse to lie to your customers The hotel is also extremely noisy -- expect "entertainment" to go till midnight, every night, and if it's not this hotel, it'll be coming from the hotel down the beach. No good for sleeping if you have a baby either. Facilities are nice and fairly clean otherwise. Food is good. Restaurants are good but don't bother with dining at the individual restaurants, the meals are rather poor, you get better at the buffet. Lunch time at the Turkish restaurant is great. Beach access is great, too. I'd recommend the hotel if you: - are deaf - don't have a baby or don't want to swim with the baby - like trashy entertainment on a mini stage at the sound of two jumbo jets next to your bed - don't mind buffet food - don't mind being lied to by staff
