“Very good”

Fantastic hotel, Animation team are fabulous they work extremely hard. Waiters also are very good and nothing is too much trouble. Maid service are excellent. I would definitely recommend. I have been here for the 3rd time and will be coming back in July 25.

In today’s fast-paced world, hotels are more than just a place to rest—they are an integral part of the travel experience. From business professionals seeking comfort and convenience to leisure travelers wanting a memorable stay, the expectations for hotels have grown. Hotels now represent much more than a bed; they embody service quality, ambiance, and often reflect the culture of their location. In my view, the concept of a hotel as both a physical space and a service experience is evolving, and I believe several core qualities define a truly excellent hotel experience. Firstly, a hotel’s ambiance and design are crucial. The atmosphere in a hotel is the first impression, and it often sets the tone for the entire stay. Walking into a lobby that is clean, stylish, and welcoming can make all the difference. In some hotels, I have seen a true mastery of design, where decor, lighting, and even the scent create a unique mood. I think it’s particularly memorable when a hotel incorporates elements that reflect the local culture, from artwork to architecture. This attention to detail doesn’t just make a stay more visually appealing; it also gives travelers a more authentic sense of place, reminding them they are in a unique location with its own character and charm. Another essential factor is the quality of service. I think exceptional service is what makes a hotel stand out. When staff members go out of their way to remember your preferences or greet you warmly, it can make a hotel feel like a second home. The staff’s attitude, knowledge, and willingness to assist with any issues show the hotel’s commitment to making the guest’s experience as seamless as possible. This was my second stay at this hotel. I will be going back, it's fabulous. Where to start? The check in is friendly, efficient and a porter shows you to your room, carrying your bags. There are lifts to all floors. The welcome on my second visit was amazing - you'd have thought I was a long lost friend. The staff from hamid on reception to the animation team greeted me with hugs and enthusiasm. It made me feel really special. Both times I have stayed the flight has been an afternoon flight, arrival at the hotel after the restaurant has shut. Both times I (and other guests) have been provided with a salad and fresh fruit - always beautifully fresh and very tasty. I particularly like the little breads provided in various shapes - I'll try and find a photo. On the subject of food - it's excellent. Served as a buffet but with a goodly number of freshly cooked dishes. There's always a variety of salad ingredients including cheese, eggs and meat as mains. The salads are always very fresh and excellent quality. There's always hot options: breakfast you can have eggs, omelettes (freshly cooked and highly recommended), pancakes, doughnuts (again freshly cooked but I refrained), cooked breakfast options - but do be aware Tunisia is a Muslim country and so pork in any form won't be available, I have seen turkey sausages but what you won't get is bacon and sausage made from pigs... Breads, including cakes, brioche, pain au chocolate etc etc, French Sticks, rolls, sliced bread and there's a toaster so you can cook toast as you like it, yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals.... fresh fruit juice prepared to order, plus coffee, hot chocolate (from a machine) and a wide variety of teas. Lunch and evening meals: salad options, Tunisian cuisine (I loved trying this, especially Brik and their vegetable stew), pizza, chips, bread, soup, salads, freshly grilled meat, variety of hot options, desserts a plenty all beautifully presented and ice cream: the best lemon ice cream I have ever had, an amazing hazelnut ice cream plus a variety of other flavours, fresh fruit salad and fresh fruit. You are assisted by a waiter and at lunch time and evening there's wine etc available which your waiter will serve. The array and choice of food is mind blowing and everything I tried was beautiful. The company I went with allowed one a la Carte meal a week, I really couldn't be bothered because the buffet was so amazing. Yes, I can accept that there are aspects of the building that could do with a bit of attention my bathroom looked a bit tired BUT everything worked and was kept spotlessly clean. The bedroom was just beautiful. The bed was really comfortable, both times (different rooms), the pillows were about the best I've had in a hotel - all too often they're tired, old and flat. Not here, the pillows were exactly as I like them. Maintenance is second to none. Both times I had very minor issues. First time I mentioned the issue to my cleaner - when I returned to my room later that morning the repair had been done. On my second visit, I reported the issue, a leaky shower hose, the maintenance man got to my room quicker than I did! He assessed the issue, went and returned with a replacement hose. Problem solved! The gardens are constantly looked after, and well maintained. Early every morning a team of lovely ladies clean all the communal parts. Rooms are cleaned, and beds made (even when you've done it already!) every day. I saw a comment complaining about the indoor swimming pool. I've used it, it's great - definitely not cold, a nice temperature to swim in, the changing rooms are great. It's situated in the spa and open whilst the spa is open. I confess not to having tried the outdoor pool which was always pristine, kept, like the indoor pool perfectly clean and hygienic. There's a little playground for children and the animation team were absolutely brilliant with the children whilst I was staying there. Early evening music was played in the entertainment room, they had the children who wanted to up and dancing. The children clearly loved the attention and applause. The entertainment team, like all the staff, worked their socks off. There's a lot to do if you want - I did the morning stretch class with Mimi, who has a great sense of humour but who carefully assessed people's mobility and ability. There's petanque on the beach and a goodly number of other activities plus evening entertainment for the adults. Every day a list is put up giving the days activities. The entertainment staff welcome you to the dining room in the evening along with the dining room manager. In the evening you get live music from a HIGHLY talented musician. There's a wonderful selection of drinks - both alcoholic and non alcoholic - bottled water is freely available from the bars and restaurant with a mini fridge to keep it cool. The bar staff like everyone else are absolutely lovely and very helpful, they'll go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. That applies also to the entertainment team - when they see someone on their own they come over for a chat. The ambience of the hotel is friendly and supportive, it's a lovely place to be. I met people there who have been visiting every year for 20 or 30 years - that says it all really. One thing I would say is on my first visit a regular guest told me she tips on arrival and a smaller tip on leaving. The culture is different from the UK, we tip to reward good service but the culture there is to tip to thank for the service you are going to receive. On my second visit that was what I did.
