We are staying at Royal Thalassa right now. We arrived on 27th December and came for a week over New Year, flying home tomorrow. Weather has turned a bit rough today after being really pleasant all week so seems like a good time to write a review. To sum up the hotel I'd say Excellent Value for Money. Five stars obviously means different things in different countries but we are absolutely satisfied with our experience in relation to what we paid and would not hesitate to come here again in future. Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Could do with some minor TLC but that applies to most hotels. We requested a high floor and were on floor 4 which it says is the executive floor, even though I don't think we paid anything extra for it. Fridge that works, water provided every day and a free safe. Wardrobe space a bit limited, nice big bathroom and WiFi works well most of the time. Our cleaner is really nice, gave her a tip earlier. Food and drink better than average. We have stayed in dozens of AI hotels around Europe, North Africa and further afield and we were very happy with the food, especially the pizza and the Tunisian dishes that were available every evening. Drinks were fine - usual beer, wine, local spirits and a nice selection of liqueurs that you don't often get in Tunisia/Morocco/Egypt. Bar gets busy but staff are pretty good at keeping the queues down. Service in the restaurant is very good with staff generally very friendly. I always bring a bag of pound coins or euros which staff seem very happy with as tips. You get one visit to the a la carte restaurant for each week. Best to book it as soon as you arrive with the lady at guest relations (who is really nice, so helpful and always available near reception). Animation team put on a good range of activities every day as well as evening entertainment. We did Stretching several mornings with Alex who was a really nice lad who would often stop for a chat when he saw us during the day. There are two tennis courts which are free to use, but do get a bit waterlogged if it rains heavily (which it had just before we arrived). Managed to play a couple of times once they dried out. Gym is extra - about £40 per person for a week. The majority of people probably aren't bothered but we always look for a hotel with a gym so therefore factor in the extra charge. It is pretty good for strength training - plenty of free weights and resistance machines. Cardio machines are a bit dated and not all work properly (I ended up using the bike with the broken seat as the others slipped). Since most gym subscriptions in the UK are less than this for a month, it isn't great value. I think the gym is under separate management to the hotel, hence the extra charge. Location didn't work particularly well for us. The transfer from Enfida is about 1.5 hours. We like to walk a lot and there isn't really anywhere to walk to apart from along a busy road. The hotel beach is small but well maintained. Either side, the beach is in need of a good clean. However, the hotel can't help where it is and we knew that when we booked so this shouldn't reflect on the hotel itself. Finally must mention the New Year's Eve gala dinner - absolutely outstanding, totally unexpected and no extra charge! The hotel staff and entertainment must have worked so hard! Six course meal served at tables, entertainment in the dining room all night and loads of dancing. Other hotels would have changed a couple of hundred pounds extra for that, so a big thanks to all the hotel staff who made it amazing! Overall very happy indeed, for what we paid it vastly exceeded our expectations. There are minor things that could be improved but that applies to all hotels, and we have nothing negative to say about the hotel, the staff or the service so thanks very much for a lovely week.

“Great place”

Great place 5 stars hotel. We had a fabulous time Enough activities to keep you busy . The staff got us to do. Met like minded guests that added favour to our holiday Great staff and Great customer services. Nothing was so much for them . The view was amazing

Very beeautiful hotel, such a good view , the weather was sunny, the staff friendly. The food was very good ! The room is clean ! The train , the bus station are close to the hotel also taxis The spa is luxureous and all the people there are so friendly
