My stay at the Royal El Mansour was spectacular. The hotel's elegant design and top-notch amenities provided a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. The attentive and courteous staff member, Nina, attended to all my needs, ensuring that my stay was as comfortable as possible. With its convenient location and exceptional service, the Royal El Mansour has quickly become my preferred accommodation whenever I travel to the area. I give it 5 stars!

“Brilliant I expected great, but this way better than that.”

All the +ve reviews I've read are 100% accurate. The lobby is amazing with two of the biggest mirrors I've ever seen at either end. All of the staff were very very good all of the time. There's nothing they couldn't do help and always with a happy greeting. Food was tremendous and very varied. Bar attendants kept everyone supplied with waiters buzzing about constantly making everyone was happy. The room was very big, almost like a suite. Cleaned and disinfected everyday. Like others have mentioned the only downside and it certainly can't be attributed to the hotel, the mosquitos were I think like me also all-inclusive since they ate everybody. The little fridge in the room was not very cold, but hey!, everything else was fabulous. I met some lovely people while I was there and we all had a great time. A couple who like me from Scotland and an absolute blast of a man Wallace, from Northern Ireland. He was great fun. Colin.

Tunisia review We had a good holiday. Hopefully this review will help someone considering visiting. We’re a couple in our late 40’s, stayed from Halloween for a week. Transfer - this was longer than expected. 11am -2:30pm. We had a shuttle bus so you do get whatever fits in. We had to wait over an hour for another flight to come in so overall it was 3.5 hours including the wait. The bus appeared to take detours to pick up and drop off the drivers friends/colleagues. We expected a long transfer from other reviews so not a big deal just a bit exhausting. The transfer is very daunting, going through some very rough areas. We eventually came to the hotel section which is a stark contrast. Reception & check-in - The hotel is amazing when you walk in. Beautiful and very impressive. We were greeted and asked to leave passports while they processed our booking and advised to get some lunch at the snack bar. Walking to the pool area was amazing. The whole outside area is so lovely. The snack bar area is very nice. As soon as you sit and get food there are so many flies it’s really off putting. They are around the food and landing on you all the time. We realised pretty quickly that this is just the norm. On reflection, we should have thought more about the African climate and that this would likely be the case. We tried one more time there and gave up which is such a sname as there’s been so much effort to make it a beautiful space. Looking around, others didn’t appear bothered. Room - We chose a sea view double. It was gorgeous. The view was fantastic, really clean and big with a very comfortable huge bed. The cleaners were lovely and left lovely towel art on the bed. They clearly worked very hard. Hotel & facilities - Just beautiful. Gorgeous surroundings. Great pools indoor & out. We never used the spa but it looked nice. The beach was lovely with a beach bar. Couldn’t be nicer. Nice shops, gym and bars. Very well looked after greenery. Lots of sun beds, nice double beds but you need to be up early to reserve them! Only draw back was the outside area was completely in shade from 2:30pm onwards. Food & drink - great selection. Lots to choose from. Very oily and spicy foods generally but always something to choose from. Everything readily replenished. Good choice of puddings. Drinks are local spirits etc with a choice to upgrade. What you would expect from all inclusive. Bar service was good and especially when around the pool. There were certain staff coming to serve drinks at the sun beds. Very friendly and bringing olives & cheeses. Tip them, they work hard! Hotel staff - the restaurant staff we encountered were exceptional. Hassem in particular was brilliant. He works so hard, so fast and he remembered us at every meal. He had a table where we liked ready for us at each meal. He made the holiday for us and we’re grateful to him. Tipping - the advice is to tip for good service at the end of your holiday. Fair to say, however, some service we felt was worth regular tips. Do what you appreciate. We tipped regularly for sun bed drink service, restaurant and cleaning as they were great! Especially Hassem! The animation team do keep asking you to join in but do take no kindly so polite decline is no problem. We did get fed up with the trip sales staff a bit. The camel ride gent was persistent yet polite. Kept asking until he realised we were not going for it. Heard from other guests it was not a great experience and very hard sell of other items, plus lots of mosquito bites. Trips - we attended the welcome meeting on out second day. The gent was friendly and informative. Most info was about trips. We did 2 trips: Pirate ship. £20 each. Absolutely abysmal. We usually love this sort of trip on holiday but this was absolutely awful. It was sold to us on the basis of seeing the local historical sites from the sea. It was anything but. It was basically one particular staff member blasting wrap music full of swearing, leering over single females, some awful ‘pirates of the Caribbean’ pretend show fight and terrible food. We saw nothing, enjoyed nothing and could not wait to get off. The mini bus to take us there was about 150 years old, crowded, rickety, dusty and awful. We hated this. Avoid in our opinion. Our second trip was to see the coliseum and mosque. I was unfortunately unwell for most of it but my husband highly recommends it. The tour guide, Hedi, and the driver were excellent, really great knowledge and very friendly. They were very kind and caring while I was unwell. Outside the hotel - there wasn’t a lot around to walk to. We went out a few times for the local market and just to explore. It felt a little intimidating and uncomfortable. We felt this was more the sort of place to stay at the hotel rather than venture out but we like to explore so this was a bit of a negative for us. Overall this is beautiful hotel with great facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are great. The many flies and mosquitos are an issue. That may sound dramatic but it’s far more than any other country we’ve visited before. This alone would stop us going back to Tunisia.
