On arrival, we were greeted with drinks, very welcome after a long journey. Reception staff were very helpful in getting us checked in, luggage was already in our room waiting for us by the time we’d finished the paperwork. Grounds: immaculately clean, well maintained and make the perfect backdrop for photos - flowers and foliage are beautifully kept and look stunning. Facilities: onsite spa, barbers, launderette and shop, all very reasonably priced with good opening hours and friendly staff, no pressure to buy. Pools: activity pool hosts the fun, games and activities, it’s well maintained, clean and large with lifeguards at all times. The family relax pool was our favourite; a little quieter, shallower, more relaxed and perfect for spending hot summer days. The slides pools are where the big waterslides are; very popular but not overcrowded, slides are well managed by the lifeguards. If that’s not enough, there’s also an adults only pool with jacuzzi, and indoor pool and a younger kids pool! The towel station makes it easy to get clean and fresh towels whenever you need to. Activities: pool, table tennis, archery, football, darts, boccia, beach volleyball, tennis – the list goes on. All well organised with equipment provided – there’s even a tennis coach for lessons. He’s fantastic, by the way! Beach: clean, not too full and just a few minutes walk from the pools. We spent some fantastic evenings here, it’s just as beautiful at night as it is in the day. Watersports: the watersports station arranges everything from windsurfing to banana boats. They have a large range of activities every day, it’s well organised and staff are experienced and knowledgeable. Evening entertainment: shows in the Amphitheatre are fantastically entertaining, they’re creative, lively and very well orchestrated. You’ll especially enjoy watching Uoshington, the choreographer and guy in charge, live singing and dancing from Nomonde and amazing acrobatics from Patricio. Live piano playing in the Wunderbar was incredible - the gentleman who plays is so very talented, welcomed all interactions and encouraged novice piano players to join in, even if they were young kids Food and drinks: the main restaurant is buffet style, it’s clean, has a fantastic range of food from nuggets and chips right through to Tunisian specialities and food was always piping hot and fresh. Different food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and themed evenings a few times per week. Dessert section is fantastic! Always a free table, restaurant staff are attentive and helpful, we never had an empty glass. We sat in the same section each day, meaning we got to know the staff covering this area. Chef de Rang, Moez deserves a special mention. Watching him seamlessly transition from Arabic, to English, to French and to German was amazing. Outside of the buffet, there are three speciality restaurants. The cheeseburgers in the Downtown restaurant are to die for! In between main meals, there’s coffee and cake at the coffee house, crepes and burgers at the snack bar, sandwiches at the Wunderbar – you’ll never go hungry! Soft drinks were all bottled and branded, from water to coke, always available and staff are happy to provide bottles for the fridge in your room. Alcohol range was very good, local beers, spirits and fun cocktails Room and housekeeping: Room was clean, plenty of storage, decent size fridge and good air con. We asked for a high, quiet room and got exactly that – still had great views though! Daily housekeeping service made sure we always had a freshly made bed and clean towels. Onsite photographer: we booked an evening photoshoot, I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be that much fun. We had pics taken in the grounds, at the pools, on the beach – all great quality, photographer very helpful in showing us how to pose, and the prices were much lower than expected. A wonderful keepsake with great memories attached. General area: outside of the resort (turn right when you leave the resort), we visited shops and the Medina. The Sunflower shop (on the first roundabout you’ll come to) was well worth visiting. It has a huge selection of items, ranging from toiletries and sweet to clothes and souvenirs. Prices are fixed and very reasonable, much cheaper than other shops we saw close by. Staff are friendly and happy to chat, no pressure to buy. Keep walking and you’ll reach the Medina – fascinating, fun and unlike anything we see in Wales. Hubby had a great time haggling and bartering, we came away with beautiful leather bags and purses as well as some local foodstuffs. Our rep explained that we might be approached on the street by people trying to get us into their shops – it happened once or twice but a firm ‘no thank you’ and we were left alone. General observations: most staff spoke Arabic, English, French and German. The few who didn’t speak fluent English were still able to hold a conversation – we had no problems communicating with anyone and we even learned some Arabic! Everyone was pleasant and happy, staff really can’t do enough for you. Yes, tipping goes a long way but we never felt obligated or pressured. The Guest Services Manager, Hedi, is the absolute star of the resort. He’s there for any query or problem, and we saw him go out of his way for several families. If you’re an animal lover, go to see Hedi – he’s raising cats and ducks at the resort! His duck family has laid eggs, and the cat families are amazing – mum Mimi has her 4 month old daughter, Gigi, and her newest litter of kittens. Hedi’s doing an incredible job of looking after the animals and judging by the number of people wanting to spend time with the cats, it’s the most popular part of the resort. The only downsides that we encountered were the shower leaking onto the bathroom floor; our housekeep always made sure we had spare towel to deal with this, and the sunbed situation – frustrating as it is, it’s really no different to any other hotel. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and the addition of the animals adds another level altogether. Hedi – please keep up the amazing work that you’re doing with the cats, we can’t wait to come back and see how they’ve grown! Until next time.......

“Fantastic resort, amazing service and a family of cats!”

I stayed for 11 days mid Aug, with my husband and 14 year old daughter. On arrival, we were greeted with drinks, very welcome after a long journey. Reception staff were very helpful in getting us checked in, luggage was already in our room waiting for us by the time we’d finished the paperwork. Grounds: immaculately clean, well maintained and make the perfect backdrop for photos - flowers and foliage are beautifully kept and look stunning. Facilities: onsite spa, barbers, launderette and shop, all very reasonably priced with good opening hours and friendly staff, no pressure to buy. “Just amazing”

Wow wow wow! What an amazing resort! We visited last week with our 2 daughters 8 and 11 and had the best family holiday we’ve ever been lucky enough to have. This hotel and its staff are outstanding. The hotel is spotless along with the pools. The pools are all within close proximity of each other and set within beautiful gardens. There are plenty of sunbeds so there is never any need to get up early to reserve some even though some people did. We were in room 903 with a beautiful view of the sea. The air con was fantastic. The hotel is on the beach which is beautiful, safe and fantastic Watersports. The Watersports staff are incredible. The waiters can’t do enough for you and remember your preference of seating and what you drink. The food is just outstanding for all meals throughout the day. We were blown away with the Tunisian night - thank you. The entertainment staff are incredible. Well done for all of your amazing shows. We loved the evenings, especially the beach party on our first night where we danced in a mini rave with our girls on the beach ❤️ The kids club staff are full of energy, love the children and are fun. One of the main people who stood out for us was Hedi (farmer 😂) The friendliest, loveliest guy we ever did meet. Hedi never change. You’re just incredible and we felt like you were our long lost friend as soon as we saw you. The pianist (Hedi behave 😂) was just outstanding. He made us feel like he was our grandparent. The joy showed in his eyes when he saw us enjoying his music every evening. The love and care he showed the children was so kind and inviting them to play the piano with him. When he plays he’ll make your heart sing whilst you sit in the grand beautiful lobby. Saying goodbye felt quite emotional. Thank you all for the most incredible family holiday. We are hoping to see you next year ❤️ Love Jo and family xx Just a note - it’s closed currency and the hotel I believe only change cash into local currency. You can tip using GB pounds but the people you tip can only change notes into their currency. Your phone won’t work out there and you have to purchase a Zone 3 bolt on if you intend to come off the hotel Wi-Fi. The hotel Wi-Fi was incredibly good.

“Nice family resort”

We went as a family of 4 for 2 weeks at TUI Magic Life Africana Positives: Clean, well maintained, 6 pools (activity, slides, small relaxed, indoor at the spa, small round pool next to the slides' one and a medium pool a bit further) We always found a way to get some loungers, you might not have as many as the number of members in your family, but 1 or 2 are usually ok to find, especially at the beach. Room was clean. We were lucky enough to benefit from a view on the sea and have a balcony, which helped in terms of drying swim clothes and beach towels! (dried super fast thanks to warm/dry weather and nice breeze with no humidity). Magico restaurant has been very crowded only once, during our stay, usually easy to find a table + waiters are super helpful. You should also try the Tunisian, a la carte restaurant! Watersports included: Canoe, catamaran (if you have a licence), banana boat (once a day, which was enough for us) Kids club activity included Banana boat every other day Staffs are very friendly and helpful Ozer, the TUI rep, is there almost everyday, should you need anything. Entertainement team was great, special thanks to Thais, Charlie, Damian and Uoshington not only for the shows and classes, but also for taking the time to come speak with us during the evenings of our stay. Room for improvment: - Wi-Fi: We had 1 day a week when it didn't work properly. Considering that you need to access the TUI Magic life app to book your activities, anticipate accordingly if you can! - Magico Restaurant buffet: For having been in another Magic life resort, we found the buffet to be a bit limited, especialy on the dessert part which will quickly become repetitive. - Beach towels change: There is some time slots where the hutt is open for you to change your towels. The hours will work well as long as you don't have kids going to kids' club, but when you do, you'll wish that the hutt would be open a bit later... Good to know: - We highly recommend doing the "Off the beaten track" excursion! Our driver, Ali and guide tour, Mohamed were brilliant and really took time to share information with us during the day which made this tour even more interesting. - Minimum wage is roughly 1000 Tunisian Dinard (about £300), therefore any tip is really appreciated (10TND = £3), however you won't feel pressured to give any. - Expect some jellyfishes in the sea, depending on the wind direction, you'll get more or less of it
