My friend and I booked this as it was a good value for money, looked nice and we hadn't heard of Djerba before, but decided it looked a nice place to visit. Food: a good selection, Soup was always very hot, three cooking stations for fresh cooked food, from eggs, pancakes and fried donut style pastries at breakfast to chicken and fish at lunch and dinner, plenty of side dishes, always rice, couscous, vegetables, salad, pasta ect as well as a Pizza & Pasta station as well. chips a few times but don't expect too much English. food was good, not always to my taste but certainly would not complain about it. The pizza was lovely as were the breakfast Bambalouni's. not tried them before but lived on them... desserts were a selection of cakes and pastries, most very nice, would have been nice to have had some ice cream either at a meal time or through the day. Also had a meal at the A La Carte, looked very nice, but wasn't really as tasty as it looked and not very hot. Rooms: basic but ok, we had two singles pushed together plus another single, enough storage, walk in shower, balcony with a couple of chairs, fridge & TV (no English channels, but was to be expected) used the duvet as get a bit chill night time. The hotel was in lots of blocks, got a bit lost for a few days but soon find your way! also part of the hotel next door and could use their facilities, they had a nice lounge we used a couple of times to sit and have a drink. Drinks: a decent selection including a few cocktails, not as many local brands as I would have liked but enough. you could also have coffee, but the hot Chocolate was amazing.. like drinking melted chocolate.. I would go back for this alone! AI bar shut at 11, then you could go to another bar that was chargeable till 1 I think. Entertainment: The absolute best.. The entertainment team do this hotel proud, a lovely bunch of young men and a girl called FiFi, I do apologise I am terrible with names, so can't remember them all but considering we were out of season and there was not that many guests they still got as many people as they could up doing activities, we played mini golf, darts, games round the pool and joined in on the evening dancing as well, we drew the line at Aqua aerobics but only as the pool was too cold! they chatted with everyone, not just the younger ones, my friend and I are in our 50's and they would often sit and chat with us. They were on the go all day and always with a smile. General; not much nearby, if you go out of the hotel and turn right you will come to a few shops, a restaurant and a cafe within about a 10 min stroll, not much more. beach is ok, there is a private area, also camels on the beach. as we went out of season a lot of the things were not open, but am sure in the summer the whole area will come to life. We did a couple of trips, one booked online, Horse riding, and a Djerba Island trip via the Easyjet rep, this was really good, covered a lot, there are lots online so have a look before you go. Pools were really cold & so was the sea, next door has an indoor pool which was warm. Lovely man on reception, always helpful, bar staff also very nice. also for the end of November the weather was lovely, around 22-24 during the day, heat of the day was gone by around 4 - 4.30 and a jumper or cardi was needed in the evening, not that it ever got cold just a bit chilly. Apparently there has been no direct flights from the UK in over 10 years, not sure why but am sure that will change.. so please be patient if not everyone understands English. Everyone was so lovely, but the entertainment staff made the holiday special for us.

Returned yesterday from Djerba Aqua Resort, had an amazing holiday. All staff extremely friendly from reception staff through to the cleaners. As the UK has only recently started flying to Djerba Island again was greeted mainly in French but they soon remembered to switch to English as my French isn’t great. Room extremely comfortable although due to size of the resort it was quite a bit away from main complex but this wasn’t an issue for me. Food was great with lots of choice on a daily basis, you definitely won’t go hungry. As with most AI found sometimes it wasn’t always hot but again never cold & certainly edible. A big shout out to the entertainment team, they are all a credit to the resort. The only reason I haven’t given an excellent score is due to a slight error made by the person who charged me the tourist tax as I was charged in pounds but slightly overcharged by 20 dinar. As it was late in the evening this was swiftly resolved the following day, this could be due to not receiving many English travellers using sterling & lastly & this is just a personal preference I would have liked to have a bath the shower I did have was amazing but I do like a soak every so often. Also a big shout out to the easy jet rep she did a fantastic job.

“Average hotel”

Just got back from a weekend 4 days at this hotel with easyjet. Hotel very dated although staff work hard to keep it clean. Food very bland but plentiful. Just got back from a weekend 4 days at this hotel with easyjet. Hotel very dated although staff work hard to keep it clean. Food very bland but plentiful. Trying to get hold of a spoon was like a treasure hunt none to be seen around serveries. some foods were just about warm.dont think I would go back but for the price I paid it was just about tolerable.

“Could be improved”

On arrival we was booked in a ground floor room we had asked for a top floor in our requests , the lady on reception asked us to wait as top room not ready which we did just over an hr. On arrival we was booked in a ground floor room we had asked for a top floor in our requests , the lady on reception asked us to wait as top room not ready which we did just over an hr. The room 332, looked ok , two beds put together , one sheet one bed pillow each, we did ask for two more , pillows not great either . there was other pillows which matched the cotton throw we did not use these. Duvet in wardrobe which we used but it had no cover on it, AC or heat not working, the room felt damp and cold floor very cold to walk on , a small thin rug either side of the bed, mini fridge on the floor, no mini bar . TV no English Channels . Balcony nice outlook, we didn’t sit outside. Bathroom good sized shower with a large shower head and another shower, the soap shelf was on the opposite side to the shower head which was strange. When showering the water spilled over the shower floor passed the door and out onto the bedroom near the wardrobes . We had to use towels to soak up the water as this was a fall waiting to happen. The towels were grey and not nice at all.The hairdryer on the wall was powerful . Out on the corridors the lighting was poor, renovation work was evident we had walked passed the areas it was only on the 5th day they cordoned the areas off so we had to walk the longer way to get to pool or restaurant.On the subbed Tile cutting very loud and annoying , we wasn’t informed of reservation work when booking this hotel . Breakfast eggs were very good , no bacon , bread ok but not lots of it in fact the sliced bread was nearly almost gone . Tea and coffee good the machine for coffee worked well. Lunch the chips were yummy, but they did disappear quickly , the food is the same each day but always something to eat, the cakes were good too . Wine red white or rose,,you had to ask waiter for this , beer you helped yourself glasses are small. Tea time food sand as lunch but no chips , mashed potatoes are sloppy , soups are tasteless ,. The food was always COLD , except for food made for freshly by the chef, pizzas cold unless you manage to get one just prepared. There is a microwave if you want to warm up your food. There are flies around the food .One meal at the alacarte restaurant which is next to the buffet restaurant, per week stay. We had tuna appetiser which was nice, mussel soup COLD, Sea Bass on a bed of potatoes and carrots COLD Fruit strudel not great , wine served by waiter the restaurant looked lovely but food was terrible, a French couple said same food COLD. Animation team, the best we have had for a long time. These young people are friendly and work hard ,they get people involved we had lots of laughs with them . They so deserve more money than they actually receive , So Management give them a pay rise. No pool bar as closed , so had to walk to the other bar inside, hubby went to get a drink during the day and forgot to put his top on and was refused to be served,he came back and put his top on went back and was served. Then we saw a couple of guys with no top on coming back with drinks. Hubby complained to reception this rule applies to all. Sun beds were plentiful, cushions we use on top of the sun bed were in need of a clean as some very grubby with stains,we. Never saw anyone hosepipe the areas around the pool flies were evident while on sun beds. The other bar in hotel drinks had to be paid for , lovely guy behind the bar, order a drink you get popcorn olives and cheese straws . Karaoke nights in there very good. Taxi to the market which is a Monday and Thursday is 10 denar we didn’t do anything else as we went for a total relaxing break. Lots of Cats and kitten around, we did feed them . We paid £45 for two of us for tax . Change your money at reception there is also a machine . I would give this hotel 4 stars , only 3 . Towards the latter part of the holiday a large poster regarding food wastage , yes we saw a lot of food waste , some people had 8 plates of food on tables . We was told next month good will be served rather than help yourself , not sure if this is correct. Perhaps due to so much waste . Hope my review helps it’s a true review .
