“A bit dated and needs a good deep clean. The size of the rooms are great for a large family.”

The staff was great and very helpful. The property as a whole needs a little pick me up but sufficient for what we were looking for.

We stayed in a 2br townhouse that had plenty or space and was comfortable. Resort was very empty with only a few people around. Nice if you want a quite getaway like we did. We were an RCI exchange. You need a taxi or rental car to get to most things

Staff was welcoming and friendly for the most part. Condo was dated, but relatively clean and had good air conditioning. The kitchen appliances didn't work the best and none of the TVs worked well, but everything got the job done. Plenty of hot water in the bathrooms but none in the kitchen. The pool and hot tub were clean and inviting, bar and kitchen staff were great for the most part despite sky high prices and surrounding construction all day every day. We tried the on-site Scuba shop (if you can call it that) and the lady we spoke with was incredibly friendly and accommodating, but all scheduling had to go through Melinda (the owner) and she was a complete hag to deal with. Wouldn't answer her phone and then it was my fault that she didn't schedule my dive. We booked a fishing tour with Les through the resort and were a little apprehensive, but he turned out to be an awesome guide and put us on the fish right away. We hadn't planned on keeping any fish but Les told us that the resort restaurant would cook what we caught if we bought the sides, so we kept half a bucket full and split it with Les, he fileted them all for us. $30 to fry them, but they were great. The location is not great, there is nothing nearby without paying $40-80 for a cab ride. The free shuttles to the grocery store and beaches were a great touch to get out, but the Banana Bay beach they bragged up as "everyone's favorite" was a literal landfill. The entire "beach" was rocks and garbage. Couldn't even go in the water without walking a mile down the beach. Us and another group both ended up calling for a $30 taxi after an hour of walking because there was nothing there, we weren't sitting there for 4 hours to wait for the free shuttle. Everywhere on the island charges a 15% gratuity and 10% tax on top of the advertised prices and then adds whatever else they feel like, so 3 beers costs you $30-40 pretty much anywhere. The shark feeding thing at Pier One was a waste of time in my opinion, and the food was mediocre at best. My medium rare NY Strip was a $75 piece of shoe leather that I only finished out of principal. We walked to the $2 bar area one day only to find everything closed, and mountains of trash filling every orifice of the boardwalk all the way down. In conclusion I'm glad we went, and ORYC was a decent place, but the island is an overpriced hole and I'll never go back.

The staff were pleasant and helpful. Th resort was quiet and relaxing. It was close to several beaches. There is one restaurant that had a nice vibe. The main swimming pool was closed for repairs for our week. The weight room was not operational and was in poor shape. The bed was very firm.
