“The Sands just hits the spot every time”

We once again had a wonderful time with you once again and we really enjoy the Sands resort. The food was great, room in good condition, housekeeping efficient. And the resort is lovely. I have one complaint and I have raised it before, it was worse the ever people booking sun loungers and then leaving towels on the chairs as early as 7am and then they don't arrive until much later in the day making it impossible for other residents to sit, this is especially noticeable in the front row by the beach. Its not fair and I think you should enforce the 1 hour rule more effectively. Other then that not one complaint and I wish I was still there. Please can I compliment Fluck and Yoghurt the waiters at the pool bar, Mel in the restaurant and the lady who did our room. All superb and all assets to your business. Would I return, I think I have been to your hotel at least 8 times and I will 100% come back!

“4th visit for Christmas”

This was our 4th visit to The Sands Khaolak and we were made to feel very welcome from the offset. They were pretty much full, occupancy but made every effort to make our stay excellent. Chita is a real credit to the Sands and is A* when it comes to delighting customers. This hotel has served us very well over the years as we have travelled with our younger daughter and teenage sons. There is something for every one of all ages. The one constructive feedback I will give is that they need to allocate times for breakfast. The adult area often had children too on this visit both in the breakfast and adult pool area. This is probably indicative of physical number of gusts but needs addressing non the less.

We booked an adult only room with access to adult only swim around pool outside the door for 8 nights. By the end of day one there were children in the adult area. The second day children throwing balls in the large shared adult only pool???We questioned thus and where told 13 year olds and over could use the adult areas?This resort is a family resort well set up for kids and families it is noisy and in peak season crowded. The adult only suites do not get sun at all as they alk face the wrong way.The staff were helpful and polite however and Jimmy in particular was a star ! he really did all he could to try to assist and booked a few trips that we enjoyed. We wished they could have done a better job in managing adult areas properly.We would say if you travel in peak season and you prefer adult only pools and spaces/rooms and relaxing pool side/seaside/swimming book elsewhere We moved to another resort after 4 nights.

“Nice if you like big hotels”

We stayed here for 6 nights over New Year with two teens. It is an attractive and well maintained hotel and grounds. We stayed in a two bed teen suite which was a good size and layout. We chose this hotel for the location and the water slides/ lazy river which our girls enjoyed. The hotel is very big, very busy and feels impersonal. Prior to this we had stayed on Koh Lanta in a beautiful beach bungalow at a really chilled out resort which is much more my style. I wouldn’t stay at The Sands again as I just don’t like big hotels. Breakfast is good with lots of choice but very hectic. We realised after 3 days that we were able to eat in the Adults only breakfast restaurant as our girls were old enough. This was a much calmer experience. The beach isn’t the best but we had days at Coconut beach and Memories beach which are both lovely. The ‘strip’ of restaurants/shops/massage/tour companies outside the hotel is along the very busy main road which I didn’t particularly enjoy. A good base for exploring the surrounding areas. Don’t stay here if you don’t like kids!
