“Tropical island”

Beautiful beaches beautiful people nice bars nice restaurants has great activities , water spirts, boat tour to different island, there’s plenty others stuff to do. always warm but has lots of rain too .. I be there soon.. see soon

We visited this Thai island between 22 April and 5 May 2019. Two of our group had been on a few previous occasions but for the rest of us, it was our first visit. Once you see through the abject poverty that these people generally live in, which by the way does not hold them back, you will find a warm, friendly and welcoming nation who go out of their way to make sure that you get the best from your visit. As with many of these countries, development is much slower than what we are used to in the “affluent west”. Power is delivered to businesses and dwellings by a maze of overhead power cables which to us seems really dangerous. Water is delivered to large storage containers on each property much the same as ours is but you cannot drink the water, and many places do not have running hot water. Mind you, they don’t need it as the sun heats up the water in the containers to sufficient temperature for a warm bath. The sewage system is rather primitive and, even though this runs under the streets, it is often hard to miss the stench from the sewers. There is no gas on the island. Although the islanders try their best to make the island look it’s best, there is still a long way to go where fly tipping is concerned and where waste collection and recycling is concerned. To many, all this will sound like a place to avoid, but it is not. In fact it is far from it. It is actually a beautiful place to visit once you see through it’s exterior. The people are the most warm and friendly nation I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They go out of their way to help, and to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Most of the beaches are beautiful although as the sand is made up of crushed coral, it can be quite uncomfortable on the soles of soft western feet. There are some fabulous waterfalls around the island just waiting for you to take a cool refreshing dip in however, you will need to go at the right time of year otherwise these falls may be dry. Food is cheap and restaurants produce some fantastic meal. Just make sure you tell them if you don’t like things too spicy otherwise you may suffer the consequences. Clothing is also very cheap I fact, it’s worth traveling with just the bare essentials and buying what you need when you get there. You won’t need anything posh. Just shorts, T shirts and flip flops are the standard dress wherever you go. In summary, you must go if you can. It’s a long way to go but well worth it and you will be glad you did. I’d go back tomorrow.

It is many years since this resort had luxery standards. This is a three star and NOT a five star resort as they advertise with. The wole area is in need of an upgrade. It is many years since this resort had luxery standards. This is a three star and NOT a five star resort as they advertise with. The wole area is in need of an upgrade. The pool is not inviting you to take a dip, but the see is ok. Our (luxery) ap is large and has all we need, included a washingmashine and a dryer. But we are really missing a balcony. The staff is very nice and helpful The area around the resort has nothing to offer. You have to take a minibus or a taxi several kilometers/miles to get to other restaurants. We payed for 14 nights in advance! We feel dissepointed, and feel tricked by the resort website who must have pictures taken many years ago. On the positive side, they offer a free bus to town at 10PM every day with return 5AM
