If you're looking for the luxury of a five star hotel, then 4Dreams won't be for you. However, if you do book 4Dreams you won't be disappointed, because what you will get is a very clean, centrally located, well-run, comfortable hotel with friendly, efficient, helpful and welcoming staff! It's also great value for money! Our room on the first floor at 4Dreams was spacious having a large built-in wardrobe with shelves, more than enough room for our two week stay. It was also quiet with just the occasional noise which you'd expect from excited youngsters passing by, but very little internal noise. Our twin beds were lovely and comfortable, providing us both with a good night's sleep throughout our stay. There were also extra blankets and pillows if needed which did come in handy during a couple of nights. Our bathroom was well equipped with a bath plus an efficient shower with plenty of fast flowing hot water, sink and bidet - and again, more than enough shelving for both of us to display our toiletries etc. The white towels provided were lovely and soft and could be changed if left on the floor to be collected by the cleaning staff. All rooms are provided with a fridge. We found this so useful because it meant we could buy fresh salads to have at lunch times as well as keeping our drinks chilled. Great! Without a doubt, this lovely hotel, in prime position for shops, restaurants, beach, harbour and pretty much everything else, is a gem! Within a couple of minutes of walking you are in the midst of so many great restaurants, eateries, ice cream parlours, colourful street vendors, musicians, and street artists. The mood here evolves from a friendly, carnival-like atmosphere to a warming feel that is both soothing and peaceful and at times almost serene as individuals, groups and families slowly drift and meander through the town. This unhurried, leisurely lifestyle quickly becomes most agreeable, being in complete contrast to the cut and thrust of the UK's faster pace of everyday life. One of our favourite locations nearest to 4Dreams Hotel is Plaza del Charco, the oldest part of the town, full of character and charm. Here you'll find some beautiful well-tended gardens and the most elegantly, ornate church - Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Pena Francia. This area seems to be very popular and where most people like to gather either to enjoy dining out or to just be together. During the festive season it's an ideal vantage spot to view the spectacular Christmas procession as it slowly winds its way through the town. And all this in less than a couple of minutes from 4Dreams! During our stay we found so much to do we didn't have time to view the flat screen television in our room however, on those evenings when my favourite football team was playing, I'd wander down to the Bee Hive Pub to watch the match on their big screens. Here was a great atmosphere without the noise and sometimes rowdiness of UK pubs, and only a three minute walk from 4Dreams! On quite a few sunny days we went up to the hotel's roof-top pool and sun terrace where we enjoyed either sunbathing or swimming. These were really special occasions which we enjoyed. More so because my partner needed to exercise her knee following reconstruction surgery so these sessions were important to her. On most visits it was so quiet and relaxing and there were always plenty of sunbeds and parasols available! Absolute heaven! On occasions, there were schoolchildren staying at 4Dreams so inevitably as with any group of excited teenagers being away from their parents and amongst their friends, there was a little more noise generated. That's only to be expected. But certainly there was no loud, unruly or anti-social behaviour amongst them. On occasions, they came to use the pool and sun terrace at the same time as us but I have to say they were all polite, well behaved and very friendly. In addition, their presence never impeded us in any way. By the way, the pool and sun terrace were always very clean. The hotel is equipped with two lifts which is so good because at no time during our stay did we have to wait for a lift. Fantastic! Talking of cleanliness, at 4Dreams the cleaning staff do an amazing job, and everywhere smelled so clean and fresh. So well done ladies, your hard work was much appreciated! 4Dreams provide free WIFI which we found really helpful. A useful tip is, if the WIFI signal appears weak in your room, pop down to the reception area where the hotel's router is located. Here you'll find the signal much stronger! Oh, and another tip. By the reception area you'll find some scales to weigh your suitcases before departure. This might just save you worrying whether or not your suitcases exceed their weight limit! So, how do we rate 4Dreams? We enjoyed such a lovely holiday there we have now booked a further month over Christmas and New Year which we are looking forward to so much. It's an amazing little hotel and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Before I end my review, I'd just like to share this with you. After arriving at 4Dreams we found a big problem with one of our cabin cases. Due to it being mishandled at the airport the unique code had been shifted so became unlockable! Having tried for several hours trying various combinations to no avail, as a last resort (before destroying the case), I took it to the reception in the hope of them being able to help. I saw Silvia and explained our dilemma. She said she'd hand it to their technical staff. Twenty minutes later there was a knock on our door. There was Silvia handing us our unlocked cabin case with a new combination code! Wow, now that's what I call exceptional service! Thanks Silvia and thanks guys, you were brilliant! Happy holidays! “There's a lot to like....”

There's a lot to like about the 4dreams Hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. The reception staff are friendly and check in is quick and painless and the reception area is clean and tidy with comfortable furniture. We had a room on the second floor with a small balcony overlooking the pedestrian street to the front of the hotel and one thing to note about rooms at the front of the hotel is that they overlook a school. We only heard the children on the first day of our holiday because they went on Easter break afterwards, but it's something to bear in mind because they're obviously quite noisy when they're out playing on the yard. Our room was perfectly adequate - it was clean, with comfortable beds, enough storage for clothes and a clean bathroom with a good hairdryer, enough towels (changed daily if you want), some free toiletries and always plenty of hot water - I've definitely stayed in worse when I've been travelling. It could be a bit noisy into the early hours and again in the morning when there are deliveries being made to other properties on the street but overall I slept pretty well during our stay. The rooftop area is great if you want to sunbathe, relax and read, although I found the pool too cold to use at this time of the year - there were quite a few sun loungers and parasols for guests to use but you do need your own towels. Breakfast was a fairly simple affair, but fine for the price paid. There was a daily choice of cold meats, cheeses, fresh rolls, sliced bread for toast, juice, fruit, bacon, eggs, pastries, cereals, milk/plant milk, yogurts and cake. The coffee was not great however and there did seem to be recurring problems with the coffee machine so I switched to the PG Tips on offer which was fine. The old town area of Puerto de la Cruz is really lovely. Plenty of good restaurants, bars and cafes, nice places to sit on the shade and people watch and it is kept very clean and tidy on a daily basis - I wish it was like that back at home! If we ever return to Tenerife, I would return to this hotel as it offers very good value for money.

Overall, wasn't expecting much to be fair from reading previous reviews and pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very central and easy to get to the marina and a lovely square with some very good restaurants/entertainment. I had room 409 and the sump pump from the rooftop hotel woke me up at 06:30 every morning, but changed to another room with no problem. It was clean, no bed bugs I'm happy to report! (unlike a guest who was on the coach back to the airport who had bedbugs so bad their party of 7 had to find an air BnB). The coach transfer was long, especially going back - an hour going round and round Porto De La Cruz!! - make sure you visit the restroom before boarding! The very small fridge provided was cold enough to keep ice in the small compartment so was very happy. I only had breakfast 2 times of the week I was there and it was ample and plenty fresh and canned fruit, yogurt, eggs (different style every day) and the usual continental stuffs. The "juice" dispenser had real orange juice so was very pleasantly surprised.
