Ideal if you’re just there for the golf. The first 5 star hotel I’ve used with a ‘minimum staffing policy’, I perhaps appreciate the staffing difficulties over a holiday period, however all available staff had a positive and efficient manner, however, to expect one member of staff to serve drinks (and producing the drinks) on the veranda most evenings, catering for some 20 guests, with 20/25 minute waits is totally unacceptable for any hotel and certainly not one rated at 5 Star. The management, also when confronted with a dinner table booking debacle stated, ‘we don’t make mistakes’, effectively calling a logistical professional with 30 years professional service ‘a liar’. The hotels location ‘on a golf course’ must certainly be a plus, however it’s also adjacent to a large derelict, ‘awaiting development site’ which, in the main is well screened from the hotel, however it’s close vicinity to ‘lessor accommodations’ you are subjected in rooms close to the boundaries the party sounds until 3am associated with las Américas, exactly what we we trying to avoid. If you have experienced Glen Eagles, Langholm, Dubai, New York, Sydney and Las Vegas, Wynn and the like 5 star experiences, you will be disappointed by the service and attitude of this establishment. If a hotel’s senior management have a ‘we don’t make mistakes’ attitude, there is no hope.

For golfers it's great to take you clubs from the basement put them on your buggy and drive into the golf course. it's no suprise that 5 other couples from our golf club now book here. Must try harder to keep this a secret.

This hotel is very popular with golfers (we arnt golfers) and is very quiet on an evening (we like nightlife and entertainment). That said, we made the most of it and enjoyed a four night stay ( BnB). The hotel is immaculate throughout and spacious. Breakfast-time is calm, easy to get a table, with generous and varied choices of food and drink - continental, plus hot food cooked to order. We asked the waiters for cappuccino (as this wasn’t on the menu) and it was ‘no problemo’. Our room (203) was very spacious; lovely bathroom with walk-in shower which was powerful and excellent temperature control. The bed was huge and unfortunately not the most comfortable for me but the sun-beds around the pool and those on the balcony made up for this. Our balcony had wonderful views and with the water-fountain below creating a lovely ambiance. There was an electric parasol over the balcony for shade when needed. It was easy to get a sunbeds round the pool, any time of the day (peak season could be different). There is a pool bar but it’s fairly uninviting. Overall there seemed to be few staff around and those that were there were rushed off their feet. We also found the hotel to be too quiet for us, especially night times - the evening bar was fairly empty, we had to wait for a drink as the waiter seemed to be elsewhere. The odd game of pool or doms broke the silence. There was a pianist on a few nights who was talented but people seemed to prefer quietly chilling on the terrace. We enjoyed getting out and the location and exploring really did make our holiday. There’s plenty to see and do in the area. The hotel is on a steep hill and a walk from the main restaurants. There’s a little shop around the corner if you’d like some snacks. Taxis seemed hard to come by and costly so we hired ‘dott’ scooters to travel around enabling us to see so much of las Americas, adeji and los christianos at various times throughout our 5 day stay costing only €2 per 30 minute journey (buy a pass on the app). We had great fun and were able to find some lovely bars and restaurants by using the scooters to have a reky. We zipped down to the ‘golden mile’ and parked up, enjoyed a long walk and then hopped back-on a different scooter when our legs were tired. We did the same to They are brilliant way to see this side of the island. We didn’t go on the roads though, safer to stick to the pavements. On the ‘golden mile’ we enjoyed cocktails (discounted between 5-7pm) upstairs in the ‘Hard Rock Cafe’ and a pint opposite in ‘Harry’s bar’ watching the sport. There plenty of shops like ‘Zara’, ‘mango’ and ‘Boss’ at the end of the ‘golden Mile’ if you fancy a shopping spree. All the decent restaurants need a reservation so it’s worth being prepared and booking up to avoid disappointment. We also enjoyed ‘la Piazzeta del mar’ restaurant in los christianos. ‘mini golf Santiago’ on the golden mile was great fun, well maintained and a fair price and If you want a little walk with spectacular views - try ‘Montana chaofita’ - its close the hotel and it has a path to follow, very popular from morning until sundown so you won’t be alone. We’ll definitely come back to the area but we’d try a different hotel.

It’s a great hotel with preferential access to golf and first class dining. Very helpful staff. We were returning customers but not returning often enough to avoid getting the only room in the hotel (perhaps there were two) that got no sun either in the morning or afternoon. It’s strange how important a bit of sun is - drying your swim staff or just that last hour of the day. We will return and hopefully we have served our time in room 17. 😮
