Just back from a 7 night stay at Hotel Coral Compostela Beach Golf and wanted to leave a review as my first time staying in Las americas. Hotel was excellent, when we arrived we were greeted by 24 hour reception and given 2 room keys. We stayed in the loft apartments situated on the 3rd floor ( hotel only has 3 floors) The room was perfect. 2 beds pushed together, a seating area with 2 comfortable armchairs and tv. A kitchen with fridge, counter top hob with 4 rings kettle, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. Room was air conditioned and also has a ceiling fan but remote controlled. Bathroom was spotless and the shower was powerful and enclosed away from toilet. Next to the loft rooms there is private sun terraces with double lounge beds, single sun loungers table tennis, vending machines and outside showers. As the loft apartments are self catering there is a massive supermarket across the road which is open 6 days ( closed on a Sunday) and reasonably priced. There is a small shop on site at hotel with essentials like water, coffee, juice, crisps and sweets but it is really expensive 2.50 for mars bar..... The pool is not too big and very shallow you can stand at all parts of the pool with steps to enter and exit at several points. It is not heated and can be a shock to the system if weather isn't too hot when first get in. This is the only hotel EVER stayed at that never missed on out sunbeds regardless of what time of day went to the pool. There are so many and all ideally located for the sun. Pool bar serving food and drinks from 9am until 9pm but pool closes as 7pm. Food is really nice and cheap. Pizza, burgers, curry topped fries, nachos, omelettes, hot dogs and choice of sides. Cocktail menu and drinks menu range between 3.50 euros and 7 euros. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels. I broke a cup and we only had 1 plate on arrival and both issues were dealt with within 10 minutes. Location for us was perfect a nice 15 minute walk down to the bars and restaurants a favourite for us was paddy Reilly's Irish bar with good food and live music every night and a further 10 minute walk down the main strip where is it heaving and very lively. a 15 minute walk in the other direction is the other main part of Las Americas where you will find far nicer bars, hard rock cafe and the beach and if in a couple probably more suited for a nice night out. Prices reflect this though with most drinks between 6 and 13 euros. Siam Mall and Siam Park are both a nice 30 minute walk from the hotel or 6 euros in a taxi. The hotel will also book a transfer to Loro Parque (Zoo) for 22 euros return per person which is cheaper than most excursion reps. Tui reps can also arrange it from the hotel Jet 2 reps cannot. Staff at hotel speak minimal English but will always offer to help and were friendly and approachable. The lifeguards not so much and would stop kids taking inflatables in the pool, but had no such issues when was a group of young girls who wanted to take lilos in the pool :) Check out is by 12pm but the hotel do offer a shower room, Luggage room and chill out room with phone and laptop charging ports. A bonus we noticed after several days was several private rooms with swim up pools. Checking prices appear round extra 250-300 per person for a week and only for 2 people but looked class. I have booked the hotel again for next year and will bring my 2 kids so all in all a fantastic place to stay and would recommend to anyone.

“Meh!”

It was OK, but that is about it. The room had a view of a fence, the hotel was noisy at times and the staff were pretty indifferent. We used non of the facilities except for the showers and waiting room on the last day, when we were waiting for the return bus.
