Overall a nice hotel for a short break. Location: The hotel is right on top of a hill overlooking the resort. Amazing views. There isn’t really anywhere you can walk to from the hotel unless you are happy to walk up/down a very steep hill however the hotel do provide a free shuttle bus into Puerto de la Cruz which is very reliable and definitely worth using. We hired a car and drove around the island, some amazing villages in the hills nearby that you wouldn’t normally see. Hotel: The hotel is very clean throughout. The staff were all friendly. It does feel a bit dated in places however this had no affect on our time there We didn’t really use the pools as the weather wasn’t great during our 5 nights stay. We were unable to get a late checkout and you can only find out if this is available on the day you are due to checkout. There was also no courtesy room available to have a shower before coming home which was a little disappointing. Food: We stayed All Inclusive. Breakfast was the usual food with a good selection of continental as well as hot food. Lunch was ok, again a good selection of cold food with the usual hot food such as grilled meats and fish. Evening meal was ok, food does get repetitive however I think that’s a general thing rather than just at this hotel. Food was always hot. We ate in the snack bar by the pool some afternoons, food such as chicken nuggets, burgers etc however the staff were friendlier there. We ate at the a la carte one evening which was lovely and would recommend visiting it. 20% off bill for All Inclusive guests. Weather/car hire: As expected with it being in the North of the island the weather can be unpredictable however we hired a car which the hotel reception arranged and the car was delivered and collected from the hotel. All very easy and allowed us to go sun hunting during the daytimes.

“Lovely hotel but.......”

We all loved this hotel and couldn't fault it,but I do think Jet2 should let you know that 50% of the ground floor suites are over looking the car park infact 101 to 106 are actually on the same level as the car park about 6 feet away from parked cars which is not ideal when you have a 2 year old … more

We all loved this hotel and couldn't fault it,but I do think Jet2 should let you know that 50% of the ground floor suites are over looking the car park infact 101 to 106 are actually on the same level as the car park about 6 feet away from parked cars which is not ideal when you have a 2 year old in the room,we weren't given the option for a sea view.Our first night (arriving at 11.30pm)we realised we didn't have a cot in the room ,after I had actually emailed the hotel to request this,he then had to sleep on a mattress on the floor and ended up under a coffee table after rolling off,not a good start.We did get a cot the next day but couldn't change our room.This did put a dampner on the holiday ,but found everything else really good,a playground for kids would have been good.The entertainment team were really good ,boys loved the mini disco and kids club.Food was excellent as were all the staff.The hotel is up a hill which we knew about so we did use the shuttle bus to get out and about.

Don't get me wrong back in the day this would have been classed as a four star hotel however, it is very dated in the rooms needs updated ... No coffee tea facilities in your room you have to hire kettle, utensils crockery which is ridiculous in this day in age... The hotel is cleaned well and the majority of staff were absolutely lovely... Breakfast is what you would expect for all inclusive however, a bit more imagination is required for lunch and evening meal it was pretty much the same... Maybe different themes on different nights would be an idea. The coffee machines in bar area were locked early in morning 🌅 so for anyone looking for a coffee fix had to wait until breakfast... Entertainment area could be better as not a big space ... If you are looking for a walk go down the back of the hotel you can walk safely to down to the town as you are a bit isolated at top of hill this will approximately take around 30mins, much safer than the opposite side. There is a shuttle bus that runs to and from the hotel at certain times of the day. The views are amazing though

Ok first impressions impressive. Staff and reception staff excellent. Room very big and spacious but nothing in room it’s very basic and could do with a face lift, rusty balcony railings broken vents, not what I would call Meliá standard, no kettle or Coffey in room you had to pay I think €20 a day it’s a bit much for a kettle for an10 day stay, Food great variety and some nights very nice, but unfortunately some night I found it hard to eat I always found something, breakfast great pastries but bland food and sometime cold. I have stayed in Melia hotels all over the world and this is not Melia standard it was one of the reasons we booked it. The location of hotel is up on a steep hill, not for faint hearted but possible. The curtsey bus was good but times some never suited us. Taxi are good and easy to get to get, friendly drivers and safe around 10€ on average. The pool areas and lifeguards good. Pool snack bar is great for drink but food can be hit and miss. On the whole it’s been a great holiday and the hotel was fine. But I have compared it to a Melia and it’s not
