Rio, Manu and Hana were the most wonderful hosts. We were exceptionally well looked after on a daily basis. We were delighted to join 365 Club Melia to continue our journey and Rio is an excellent guide taking us forward and helping us to book our next Melia adventures. Nothing too much trouble 24/7. Gran Melia Palacio de Isada is an amazing hotel with so many choices of restaurants, pools, adult/ family spaces as well as a private beach. Would absolutely recommend.

In contrast to other 5 Star All- inclusive properties we have visited around the globe, Gran Palacio Isora, falls short of the mark in several areas. The positives are the Beauty, Cleanliness and position of the Hotel ( next to an accessible beach and tidal pools). The staff at the international buffet were gracious and helpful. The alcoholic drinks were nicely made. The negatives are the total lack of bar service especially at the adult pool, extra fees to play tennis and the frustration in booking dinner reservations at optimal times for our family of nine which should have had more pull given the amount spent in booking this establishment. The food and dinner service at Oasis was dreadful. The food at the Mexican was mediocre. The food at the Italian and Asian restaurants was very good. The international buffet was very good as well. Most importantly we have an outstanding erroneous charge on our credit card which has not been identified and therefore reversed for $42 since our departure despite 4 emails requesting an explanation. Outrageous!

Just back from Tenerife after some wonderful days enjoying the warmth of an incredible hotel. We stayed in the Adults-Only area called Red Level—simply amazing. I want to congratulate the entire breakfast team, especially Beatriz, a charismatic Cuban blonde who was excellent, professional, and very personable. Rafael, Arelia, Flavia, and others whose names I can’t recall were all fantastic—they knew our coffee preferences and every little request. Unbelievable! The bar staff were also very kind, and the reception team was outstanding—Jessica and Vero were always there to help us with anything we needed. There is a variety of restaurants to choose from, and we particularly enjoyed Agave and Olio. At Oasis, the paellas were delicious, though we didn’t visit the buffet. The evening entertainment was great, though sometimes a bit too noisy—you couldn’t always have a conversation. The village where the hotel is located is small but very authentic, with a lovely promenade near the sea, natural pools, and a bar where you can grab a drink if needed. A huge thanks to the entire staff, especially Beatriz, for making us feel special and going above and beyond to ensure we wanted for nothing. We’ll definitely recommend this place to our friends and will be returning Leer menos

“All-inclusive Family Stay”

We stayed as a family of three for 5 nights. I had stayed previously, but this was nearly 15 years ago so a distant memory. From reading reviews, I was a little nervous, but for the most part was very relieved to disagree with some of the complaints I had read. We did however travel in November, so I expect our experience would be different in peak season. The architecture is beautiful, with Mediterranean features and a gorgeous salt water infinity pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel for families, especially those with small children. All of the restaurants (bar the adults only ones) had high chairs and children’s menus, most of which had healthy options rather than the typical “chicken nuggets and chips” that you would see in most places. With the exception of one morning at the adults only pool, we were mainly at the family pool, but always managed to find sunbeds, regardless of time of day. There is also a pirate themed pool, which looked great for older children. The pools were all pretty chilly, with the family pool slightly warmer than the rest. There were bars scattered around the resort, and we never had to queue for a drink. In addition, there were two restaurants open for lunch, which were both delicious and quick to seat and serve. I presume that during busy season there are more than the two open, but I could be wrong. Our 1 year old went to the baby club twice, which was fantastic and a rare find at a hotel. I was nervous as it was the first time leaving him with someone other than family, but he had a great time on both occasions. They also offer “stay and play” sessions, which is a great idea for entertaining the little ones and giving them play time. Our room was huge, with a great rain shower, and a Bali bed in the garden (as we were in a ground floor room). Some of the fixtures and fittings were starting to look a bit shabby. Soft drinks and water were included in the mini bar and topped up daily, as was tea and coffee (we didn’t use the latter). Our main reasons for marking the hotel 4 stars rather than 5 were: - All inclusive is not actually this- certain drinks were not included, some of which were a bit bizarre (eg a Bloody Mary wasn’t included, but you could get a vodka and tomato juice and then add the condiments yourself, something that they seemed to realise by the end of the week made no sense and started to make instead!). Only house wine and beer is included at dinner, which was fine for us but I can see why would not suit other people who may want to start their meal with a cocktail (you could however have one for the included menu at one of the bars). Three of the restaurants (two adults- only, plus Duo steakhouse) are not included, neither is the teppenyaki at Nami; all inclusive guests do get 30% off these though. We ate at the latter and it was definitely worth the cost, but I can see why other people would not be happy at having to pay extra. - A lot of reviews had complained about booking restaurants on the app, and I agree this is quite challenging. It is frustrating to have to go into an app 48hrs in advance to book a restaurant when you are on holiday and wanting to relax. We eventually managed to get a booking at the Italian on our last night, after looking every day- and having to look every 5 minutes from 5pm to see when they released the bookings! I can only imagine how horrendous the booking system must be when the hotel is busier! All in all, this is a lovely resort with fabulous architecture and friendly staff. We would potentially come back in the future, but not with the same certainty that other hotels have given us.
