“Another Excellent Holiday”

Another excellent break at a really nice hotel in a good location, rooms are nice, food options I find excellent and the staff in all departments are outstanding. The pools are quite chilly but refreshing once in. Been many times and will definitely return in the very near future.

Second time staying here for a winter sun break for 7 days! A full honest review (including some tips for holiday goers and suggestions for the hotel) Guest Levels Highly recommend upgrading to Esencia at this hotel as there are added perks such as one free access to the spa, bigger spacious rooms, separate area for reserved sunbeds and bali beds and a separate restaurant for breakfast and dinner! Check In All staff at this hotel are very welcoming, friendly and helpful, that definitely cannot be faulted. As part of Esencia, you are supposed to have a personalised check in at a separate desk to reception but unfortunately, we never got this. The queue at the main desk was rather lengthy and we were told the person minding Esencia was at lunch so we queued with everyone else. Did feel let down by this slightly as the check in experience is what starts your holiday and we never benefitted from that. Room Last time we were here, I booked an Esencia suite with a pool view. This time I just opted for an Esencia suite only. Regrettably, my requested higher floor room was not honoured and we were by the road (which actually was surprisingly quiet). The reason for not choosing a pool view this time is because the rooms are in a seperate building which never get any sun on the balconies and can be quite dark. Some also come with their own bali beds but again, they never have any sun on them so it's always in cold shade. Therefore, I opted for a normal room but with Esencia perks. Room was always cleaned and the maids were super friendly! Something really handy is having the room key bracelets, you don't have to carry cards with you! Sunbeds & Pools Esencia guests have access to book sunbeds and bali beds in a seperate area to everyone else (alongside a handy bar that does drinks and food). Sunbeds are bookable via the hotel app which is really easy to use and is great to know you don't have to reserve a sunbed at silly o'clock hours - the system works really well. If you want a bali bed in any other part of the hotel, it is 10 euros per day. You can change towels daily with either the lifeguard or in the spa and you can pay for all your drinks/food via tab when your room bracelet is scanned. Paying extra you would expect Esencia to benefit from their own pool but unfortunately there isn't. There is a pool on the lower level and upper levels, so it's quite a trek away from your belongings if you want a quick dip! Sadly, they were also freezing! Spa & Gym Esencia guests can have one free 90 minute circuit of the spa (Pool, Sauna, Turkish Sauna and loungers) which you can book. Worth using it if you have it. If not, I think it is 20 euros per person. The gym offers some cardio machines and plenty of weights, lockers and scales. Food We were half board and had eaten some nights at the Esencia restaurant 'The One' which must be booked by the app. If not booked, you can use the other restaurant (full buffet style). The Esencia restaurant benefits from buffet starters and you can order a main meal. Food was ok but a little samey some nights, so we chose to eat out on other occasions. Staff are friendly and attentive, nice choice of indoor and outdoor seating. I preferred breakfast to dinner at 'The One' - lovely fresh fruit, good coffee, fresh orange juice! The only let down was the amazing hot chocolate machine that kept breaking and expired yoghurts spotted on a couple of occasions, which I did point out to a waiter. Amenities Location of the hotel is really nice in Adeje - local to everything. Supermarket around the corner, local bars a stone's throw away, plenty of restaurants down the hill, souvenir shops, pharmacies, shopping centers, the beach and so close to a lovely walking route where the sea is always in sight. For excursions, of course use your rep but they also have someone based in the hotel where you can book trips whether boats, cruises or visits to Siam Park. GUEST TIPS: - Be prepared you may not get any sun on your balcony if you book an Esencia Pool View as the building is predominantly in shade. - Esencia pool view rooms face the guest sunbeds, it's a little like a audience of people when you out there. - Upgrade to Esencia rooms for the extra perks, I wouldn't do it any other way at this hotel. - Be prepared for the amount of stairs at this hotel, there are a lot. There are lifts but they seemed quite slow. - If you want peace and quiet, this is the hotel for you. There is no loud music by the pool or Esencia level and of course, it's adults only. I go to this hotel for a complete switch off. HOTEL SUGGESTIONS: - The main external stairs cleanliness does need to be maintained a little better. - The pools need to be heated, they are so so cold - Personalised check in for Esencia guests needs to be covered at all times - it's a must!

“Other adult only Hotels were more suited for us.”

We had been at an Adrian adults only for 5 nights then stayed here for 2. The hotel is a beautiful building, amazing views to the mountains. Our room was lovely & sunbed terrace nice. We had been at an Adrian adults only for 5 nights then stayed here for 2. The hotel is a beautiful building, amazing views to the mountains. Our room was lovely & sunbed terrace nice. Welcome drinks at the bar, also wine & mini bar in the room. Esencia room is the only way to go here. Booking & paying for sunbeds in a 4 star hotel is crazy! The two top pools were really cold. The main pool at the bottom we never went in, very busy. There are 2 different eating areas, one for Esencia guests. Service was ok, food was ok (breakfast only we had). Yoghurt days out of date on the buffet. Great location, short walk from the beach & lots of restaurants. Our favourite place to eat was just around the corner, Amani. I personally would not return to this hotel.
