“Enjoyable holiday ”

On arrival to hotel reception very clean staff very helpful. Was a little disappointed with our apartment tired looking could do with updating. Not many places to put things in bedroom and bathroom. We upgraded to all inclusive food was OK beer was OK. Pool was cold but nice once in.

We have just returned from an all inclusive 7 night stay at Laguna Park I in Costa Adeje. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely lady at reception, who explained how everything worked and kept our luggage safe (free of charge) until our room became available at 4pm. We were told that we could make use of all the facilities, and our all inclusive benefits started there and then. Perfect! We headed off to explore a little bit of the surrounding area and stopped off for a coffee in a nearby bar. We headed back to the hotel at 3:30 and our room was ready, great. The reception area was spotlessly clean but a little dated, this theme runs throughout the hotel. We paid for a room with a pool view. We got just that. Ground floor, room 102E. Spacious, but not the cleanest. Hair was still gathered behind the door to the bedroom, plaster had fallen off the wall, not much storage space, so we did end up living out of our suitcases. 2 towels and 2 hand towels for a family of 4! We did end up buying a few from the near by shops. We took our own towels for days spent around the pool or at the beach. I just feel more were needed for showering etc. We had housekeeping attend every 2 days. Depending on who came, depended on the level of cleanliness. Hair gathered behind the door from previous guests was never removed at all and 1 bed change per week. There is no aircon in the rooms, but this was stated in the write up when we booked. We did however, have ceiling fans, and they were great. We discovered later on during our stay, that tv remotes must be requested and they require a €10 deposit. Not an issue for us as we do not go on holiday to watch tv. We learned this from another guest. So do bear that in mind if you require tv usage. The hotel in general is a little run down and requires a bit of TLC, but this never effected our stay. The pool area was cleaned daily and it was spotless. The usual, sunbed reservers were out at 7 am daily to reserve their required spot, despite there being signs around the hotel stating that this is prohibited. If you want a place around the pool, be quick. All beds taken by 8am, some never used as folk head off out for the day, with no intention of using the beds they’ve reserved. Selfish tourist behaviour. The hotel staff never take action against this. The food is okay. Breakfast is lovely. Snacks available from 10:30 around the pool area, burgers, fries, hotdogs, salad, bread and butter. The usual. Ice creams are not included. The lunch time food spread in the main food court is nice but repetitive, be open minded and try the things you maybe wouldn’t order from a menu. Evening food, again, very similar to lunchtime. They do have a larger dessert section at night. Staff very kind and are forever cleaning up and taking away plates and rubbish. They are wonderful. Evening entertainment is pants. The room is very dated and gets so stuffy and hot. Kids running round like loonies, just not for us. I have children, two of which are young (9 and 8) so this comment is not me being a childless moaner. Children are also let loose around the resort at all hours, causing bother and nothing is done about it by parents or security. Being in a hotel block, there is noise from surrounding neighbours. Lots of banging and moving about noises until the small hours. So sleep quality is poor. There are some lovely beaches in the area, all just a 10 minute walk away. Brilliant. Lots of local bars and restaurants too, there is lots to do on the doorstep. Buses are running throughout the day to take you to Las Americas and Los Cristianos. Simply scan the QR code and track the buses as you go. Great. A free bus runs to and from Siam Park daily. All in all, a great place to visit. Typical of a 3* hotel. If you want luxury, pay the price tag. It really is that simple. We do not wish to return, but we are pleased with the experience. We paid a very good price for a very good holiday. After all, it is what you make it.

“Horses for courses and we wouldn't back this one”

We were allocated a ground floor room facing noisy bars and a very busy main road. The karaoke bar opposite our room was blasting until midnight every night and the hotel itself was very noisy with kids running up and down the passageway late at night, screeching. Lots of doors slamming too. Being on the ground floor we had a daily "run the gauntlet" with cockroaches which wasn't pleasant. I guess if you were in a different section of the hotel it might be different but we certainly didn't sleep well at all. It doesn't help that the walls are paper thin. Take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The room was spacious and had everything you'd need, however we only had 6 hangers between us so my o/h lived out of his suitcase. Our patio door didn't lock properly either which isn't great. There is a free safe in the apartment. The food was ok at best but very repetitive. The pool bar snacks were the same every day. There were many bars and eateries around and the beach was about a 15 minute walk away. We bought lilos for the pool area as the sunbeds were the most uncomfortable things we've ever laid on. On that subject be prepared to be up early as by 8am they all have towels on them despite signs saying this is forbidden. The pool area is very rammed so we went to the beach a lot. Staff are lovely and always cleaning up, especially after selfish guests who are too lazy to put their paper plates/cups in the bin. The "entertainment" at the hotel is dreadful. They have it in the dingiest room we've ever seen and it's either bingo or karaoke. Again very cramped and not enough seating, however after the first couple of nights we never went back in, save to get a drink after 5pm when the pool bar closed. The hotel itself is in dire need of some tlc. Having a 3* rating does not mean you should lower your expectations. We visited friends in the area who were also staying in a 3* hotel. Theirs was lovely, peaceful and chilled whereas the Laguna park 1 was noisy, crammed and chaotic. so if you're happy with this then you'll be fine. As I said, horses for courses.
