“Excellent Holiday with Family”

The Villa Maria Suites are situated on a hillside location surrounded by golf course. The positives of this location are that it is out of La Caleta centre, very peaceful, convenient (if you want to play golf), and great views over the sea. We were offered sparkling wine and cold drinks on our arrival and quickly checked in by very friendly staff. We and our luggage were then transported to our two bedroom villa by means of a golf buggy. We chose a 2 bedroomed villa, even though it was only my wife and I, because we had travelled with our children and their families. They needed two bedroom villas. We chose the same because we thought we would be close by each other. Two of the villas were adjacent, the third was 3 or 4 villas away. The villa was extremely well kitted out. A large sitting area off the small kitchen led to an extensive terrace area which had two wicker settees, two sunbeds, and a table and chair set for 4. The large downstairs bedroom had ample storage and French doors leading onto the terrace. Also downstairs was a cloakroom with shower. The bedroom upstairs was of a similar size to that of the downstairs bedroom. The en-suite bathroom had a bath, separate shower and WC. Water was plentiful and hot. There was also a hair dryer. The shower was excellent. The upstairs bedroom also had French doors leading to an upstairs terrace with two wicker armchairs. Terrace views were down on to the dining room and bar facilities but looked out towards Costa Adeje, La Caleta and the ocean. Both bedrooms had free to use safes. Kitchen was well equipped although apart from making the odd sandwich remained unused. The fridge was great for storing the wine and beer. Coffee machine capsules were provided on arrival but not replenished. There were 3 pools, one for toddlers, one for older children and a third which I guess was for adults. When we stayed in late February all were reasonably quiet. We had no problems in getting sun beds but fair to say not many people around the pool. We visited the pool bar for lunch a number of times. Food was reasonably priced, plentiful and very good. During our one week stay the hotel restaurant switched from a restaurant menu to a trattoria menu. We visited on the restaurant night. Compared to eating out the menu was a little bit restricted but we both enjoyed our rack of lamb and pasta dishes. Breakfast was vast, plentiful and tasty. Cook was on hand to make whatever egg/pancake dish you wanted. Lots of cooked breakfast options, cold meats, cheeses, cereal – you name it. One of the best breakfast experiences we have had. We ate out a number of nights in a variety of places in La Caleta and on one occasion in Costa Adeje. The latter was a pleasant 35 minute stroll downhill and along the coast, ideal for working up an appetite. As we were a party of 10 we did have some difficulty in booking a table. Had we thought about it in advance we would have booked before arrival. The open to the air hotel bar was a very nice spot for a pre/post (or both) dinner drink with plenty of seating. Have I got a negative? Well, yes. A hillside location is great for the views and the walk down, but you have to walk back up. It was a bit of an effort (we are in our 70s), but take your time and it was OK. There are however plenty of taxis in La Caleta should you fancy the easy option. In summary, the Suites Villa maria is a really nice location to enjoy a relaxed and peaceful break. All of the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very good quality, the pool was lovely, the food very good. We enjoyed it and have already booked to return (minus the family) next year.

“Fantastic Hotel”

Stayed here for a week with family in February. We had a two bedroom villa which was more than comfortable size wise for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The outdoor area for the villa was very spacious and great to sit out and relax with the views of the coast. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and friendly. They helped organise a round of golf for us on the course next door and were helpful in terms of organising taxis to Siam Park for the day. There is also a bus that runs into Adeje twice a day which is really handy. We had breakfast at the hotel each day which was a good selection of both hot and cold options and lots of things that our children would eat. So much in fact that we often filled ourselves up for the day and didn't need lunch. When we did we ate at the pool bar which was good food at a reasonable price with excellent service. Would recommend people eat here. Location was brilliant, it is a short walk down to La Caleta, however it is a very steep hill (not so bad going down but can be a struggle coming back!). Would happily stay here again should we come back to Tenerife.

Stayed with a friend for a week in January in this fantastic hotel. From the moment we arrived till we left EVERY member of staff were warm, friendly & very efficient. We had a two bed Villa which was very spacious & clean. Two pool areas and with only a few people there at any time. Hotel was very quite even though it was almost full. Breakfast buffet was really good, always busy but very efficient. Ate a few times in the restaurant at the pool. Food & service was always excellent. Yes it’s a little walk uphill from the village but very manageable if you walk at all. La Caleta the local village had lots of lovely restaurants to eat in. The cliff walks to the right of the village have fabulous views but ground is uneven and rough so wear proper footwear. To the left you can walk for miles along the water front to some of the main resorts. This hotel is perfect if you want a quiet week in the sun away from the hustle and bustle of the more built up resorts. We thoroughly recommend this hotel if you like a bit of luxury with a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Perfect to go off grid for a week or two.
