“Good family hotel”

Lovely family hotel, very friendly. Good pool and great to access water park. Good selection of food with kids area too. Pool bar is good for snacks throughout the day, good selection of drinks served all day. Plenty of sun beds available and good kids play area by the pool

We just returned from a lovely 11 night stay at Marinda Gardens. We are a family of 4 with 2 teens. We arrived late and a cold meal had been made available to us which was appreciated. The apartment was lovely and clean on arrival and the beds, including the sofa beds were very spacious and comfortable. The pool area was very clean with plenty of of sunbeds. Pool bar with snacks opened at 10, food from 11. The buffet restaurant was very clean and we ate very well. Yes some of the food could be warmer but there was a microwave available if you wanted food hotter. The entertainment team worked hard and were very friendly. We enjoyed the daytime activities. The evening entertainment was 50/50. The external shows and games nights were good fun and I think keeping to these formats would be best. Drinks were great for all inclusive and the bar staff were very hard working if understandably a bit stressed at times. On site supermarket was fab and we enjoyed walks to the nearby marina and beach. Things that would have made our stay better- Our room cleaning was inconsistent and we had to ask for our floor to be cleaned, towel and bedding changes and toilet rolls from reception. This is at odds with what we expect from Spanish hotels, at least a floor mop at each cleaning visit is standard I thought. They also kept leaving our balcony door unlocked. There is also a lack of privacy for those sleeping on the sofa bed, a curtain or partition across the doorway could easily fix this. The dining room needs better controls of queues and clear guidance that younger children need to be supervised. If they can't reach the tongs / scoops easily they should not be helping themselves. There were big queues some nights to join a queue for 1 line of hot food. It looked like this should join from both sides? No directional arrows on the islands. People are just rude and cut in. I thought allowing families with young kids in 30 minutes early might be beneficial especially as kids disco is at 8? A bit more entertainment for teens would be great. Our girls loved the pool, water park and games. They would have appreciated some more games or water polo? Overall we had a lovely holiday. We wouldn't return as a family as its probably a bit quiet for teens but would definitely return as a couple.

We’ve just returned from a weeks stay , we have enjoyed our holiday but we wouldn’t return to Menorca as for us there wasn’t much to do , we have relaxed but at times were quite bored . The hotel is extremely clean and well kept , I loved the little apartments rather than a hotel room as we are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys so that worked well , and was plenty of room in them , we didn’t feel we had to upgrade but I expect with little ones the deluxe rooms would be a safer option for them to be able to play without wandering off .The staff were all very friendly and worked hard in all areas , Laura and pau were very good in the bar on an evening Laura told me all about sant Joan and the festivities that they do for it . The gym for me was needed as I had just had a knee replacement so I went every day to keep my knee from going stiff . The food was ok not the best but could always find something but it was only luke warm we actually preferred the snack bar . Water park is a nice bonus however I wouldn’t have wanted to pay to get in as there isn’t much there it’s worth the €3.50 for the sun lounger though . For us the biggest part of any holiday is the entertainment especially evening and this did lack a little , it was a lovely setting and I loved been sat outside our appartment was 2701 so it was straight onto the entertainment area which was brilliant for nipping back to the loo etc but the only good entertainment we saw was the outside acts , the Bruno mars lads were fabulous this for me was the highlight of our holiday just a shame it was on the night of the England game so not many watched them , a female singer was good , 2 ladies singers were good and the bejing acrobats where good also but the hotel entertainment one night did an act and quite honestly I couldn’t believe what we were watching , there was a bed on the stage and they were just copying each other awkwardly in dancing , luckily at least the songs they were dancing to was ok so it was better then having nothing on . Then another evening karaoke so if no one had of got up to sing what would have happened ?? The entertainment staff seemed fantastic with the kids and the mini disco etc but they certainly aren’t adult entertainers and it shows in how awkward they seem to look doing it . I know it is to keep costs down but when paying the price you pay you should be well entertained , also I think 10/10.30 pm is a little early for it all to finish . All in all we had a good holiday but I wouldn’t return due to menorca been very quiet , the entertainment not been the best and the food only been ok .
